Was on my normal train journey this morning when the conductor checked my ticket, then saw the Stoke badge on my top. Turns out hes a born and bred Cockney but has supported Wigwam all his life, and he was saying how pleased he was to see a team with a history like Stoke doing so well in the top flight, and (apart from when we played them later on this season) how much he wanted us to stay up. A proper football club he called us. Everytime he went past me to check other passengers tickets he'd say 'up the City!'. Top man, and a breath of fresh air compared to what im normally subjected to in strawmuncher land

Met a few Wigan fans when we played at their place, they are a good bunch.

i usually find you can have a decent conservation about football with any fan outside those of the top 4, west brom and newcastle
even leeds fans are a lot more humble nowadays
of the villa, brum and dingle supporters i know they have all begrugingly albeit have had to praise stoke this season

I find myself quite liking Wigan these days. We've both come a long way from our battles in the third tier. Bruce has done a phenomenal job and they have some quality players in their side like Scharner, Valencia, Figeuroa. Rodallega looks a good prospect too.
Still think Dave Whelan's a cock mind.
