At this time last year we averaged 1.85 points per game in the Championship. This year we average 1.86 points per game in the Premier League. I wonder how many promoted clubs can say that they have a better points per game in home games after promotion than before.? Needless to say our away record is not as impressive! ;D stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/teams/StokeCty.html

Am I missing something here, because we're averaging just over a point per game.
Or are you just referring to home games?

Alright, alright.... just because he said "better points per game in home games".. doesn't mean I can't ask whether he's referring to home games ;D

Yes, I should have said home games in the early part of the post even though I did say it in the second half of the post. I was quite happy with our home record last season, to better it (fractionally!) this season is staggering. Well, I think it is! ;D
And it is getting better - we haven't lost at home in the league this year! Avoid defeat for another four home games (not easy) and we'll have gone half a season without a league defeat at home.

We've also conceded only 6 in 13 at home. If you remember that one of them was a penalty that never was v Derby and one was a freakish own goal v Pompey then we are left with 4 goals. Tevez goal against ten men, King good finish for Hull, Clichy consolation goal for Arsenal and Krancjar goal for Pompey.
Not bad at all

There are more games in the CCC so the average will be smaller dont forget.

No, smapples, the goals per game average takes into account the number of games - that is why it is called a"goals per game" average! ;D

I thought it was points per game, and I disagree still. If we played 32 games in the prem and held 35points and then played 36 games in the CCC and held 35 points our average would not be the same. Thats why its called an average.

Yes forny when we have played our 38 games don't forget to divide the total by 23 to get our championship average

There are more games in the CCC so the average will be smaller dont forget. Smapples the number of games are irrelevant. You will always have an average number of points regardless of if you've played 2, 10 or 200 games mate.

I think we can all agree that without our home form this season, it would have been the championship that we were playing in again next season for sure.
