It's the curse of the Calender. I've had a calender for years and the players in the picture nearly always have left the club.

I've got a Pussy Cat dolls one myself. I'd be gutted if any of them left.

Given the "curse", can the rest of the year's "stars" be Anthony Pulis, Lewis Buxton, Marlon Broomes, Vincent Pericard, Dominic Matteo, Russell Hoult, Jon Parkin, Mama Sidibe, Rory Delap and Adam Rooney? ;D

Blimey, Jezza, that is a frighteningly long list of players who might possibly not have the "quality" to help us to "push on"!!!!
I think Delap will be useful squad player to be honest - he has been much better in recent weeks and his throw does add an extra string to our bow. I would expect Rooney to go out on loan to another club this month and hopefully some of the others will especially if it is made clear to them that they will not make the first team squad again - Broomes MUST go out on loan to kick start his career surely?

Forny, I put Delap in at the last minute instead of Demar, on the basis that we haven't really seen what the latter can do yet, and we are not blessed with oodles of pace in the squad.
Rory is still, to me, a player whose most useful limbs are in the top half of his body not the bottom half, although he has improved with a run of games.
I'd still choose Salif, Glen and Danny ahead of him in the middle of the park. If he is to stay a regular, it may have to be at right back.

You're a hard man Jezza, 'tis a long list indeed.
I do think you could make a case for mama & Delap to be omitted from it currently & (if a top defence barrister had a enough time - 6 months or so?) possibly Parkin and even Rooney (in a "benefit of the doubt" type maybe).
The rest, "need gone" (or at least, replacing) & quick.

RSB, I was making up the number to 10 for the rest of 2008! Having said that, I do not feel any of the 10 mentioned truly belong in the squad of a team pushing for an automatic promotion spot or, even more so, actually promoted. Delap and Mama are the closest to my having a reasonable doubt, but can we seriously continue with a "striker" with doesn't strike and a midfielder whose best asset is a long throw? As for Porkin, no team above the Conference should have in it a player with such a total disregard for the fitness levels required of a professional sportsman.

Same page fella really.
They are the exceptions yes (plus, if you're feeling generous Rooney to come "proper" good?). But going forward / pushing on etc., they are also the players most likely to have their inadequacies exposed.
Great position to be in though now.
By the way, did you see Jam Sarni hasn't gone to Man city after all & Harry has 'em both to play with?
Crafty ol' bugger that Redknapp - i reckon he must have put the 'correct' postcode of Eastlands in the driver's sat nav for him eh?

Maybe 'Arry is not so clever as apparently Pompey were counting on the 7 mill for Benjani to go towards the Defoe cash.
Looks like they'll have to get Jermain on tick now!! ;D

Just seen his quote:
"Their one had dragged on a bit because Benji had a bit of a delay getting there with one thing and another,"
said Redknapp...who later admitted tippng the taxi driver heavily to go to Manchester via Edinburgh.
Marvellous ;D

The plot thickens:
"Then I came back to Manchester. I was supposed to see Benjani.
"I was told he was due to arrive at 9pm, but he did not arrive until 11:15pm. said Sven.
"The taxi driver did look a bit familiar with a baggy face and had a, how do you say it, cockney accent but i thought nothing of it until now.
Loverly Jubbly.
