Put yourself in lawro's position, analyse the facts and come up with YOUR prediction for saturday's crunch game at the Britannia Stadium. To try to help you, here's some updated facts that might assist you: * Newcastle are 18th in the league, Stoke City are 13th * Newcastle have only won 2 away matches all season, Stoke are the 7th best team in the league at home * The form guide of the last 8 games has Stoke in 7th place and Newcastle in 18th * Stoke are unbeaten at the Britannia Stadium since Boxing Day So what do you reckon? I bet Lawrenson goes for....... Stoke City 1 Newcastle United 2 Brilliant, I'm going with Owen is long due a goal and the return of the Messiah will be just the tonic Newcastle need to start scoring and winning again. Stoke will be unable to cope with Newcastle's pace and ability. Stoke 1 - Newcastle 3

"Stoke's away form has been dreadful but now they've managed to scrape an undeserved victory against one of the flairiest sides in the league, it is inevitable that their home form must suffer. With only a woeful, relegation style return of 28 points from the Britannia so far and the fact that Shearer did me a favour leaving MOTD 'cos now i'll get more airtime instead of having to sit next to Jonathan Pearce shouting every week at Craven Cottage, i can't see anything other than a Newcastle win"
Stoke 0 - Newcastle 16

"Since Newscastle home support is so magnificently loud and encouraging every week it will be no different when they are away, they will out sing the so called 'Bear Pit' and shock the stoke players to thinking their fans are not behind them, the toon will have a huge boost knowing there fans are 'loyal' as poven yesterday on SSN live, and the bear pits walls will be shaken by Toon fans, stoke will have plenty of chances all stopped by the one and only fabulous defender Colochinni and there awsome goalie" I predict 1-4

Well Gary, what can you say about Sturrrk? Great hurme record, fantastic crowd and undoubtedly buoyed by their first win away from hurme last weekend at West Brom. Beattie is on fire and looks like furming a useful parnership with Fuller.
Newcastle have been in turmoil all season and haven't travelled well. Our mate Shearer will have had a whole week to pass on the benefit of all his managerial experience and given that his opening line during analysis every week goes along the lines of "Well you always know exactly what you're going to get from Stoke", Newcastle should be well prepared, and able to deal with Delap's long throws with ease.
At the murment to be fair I can't see past a 2-1 win for Newcastle.

I am sure Lawro will come up with something like this.
If this game took place between any other side with Stoke’s home record and Newcastle’s recent form and problems off the field I wouldn’t hesitate in predicting a home win after all as Mr Spock would say it’s the logical thing to do Jim but as this is Stoke and we all know they can’t possibly be good enough to keep making me look like a complete dick head and beat the Mary Poppins inspired Toon army so for me it’s 0-5.
As the song goes in the movie and as Gary said to me in the dressing room before match of the day last week while he made me kneel before him, a spoon full of sugar makes my medicine go down.

"Stoke usually score at home backed by their passionate home support and know that a win will probably make them safe. Newcastle struggle defensively and are likely to continue to struggle against a physical Stoke side. Even so I can see Newcastle nicking this one". 0-1 Personally I think 3-0 Stoke really.

How about: - “For the murrrrrrment, I will continue to predict Stoke to lose every match however when I appear on Match of the Day I will continue to back them to stay up. Yes, I am a contradictory cunter however if I predict all options then I am bound to get it right…….I am now off to lick some windows and eat some crayons……..Stoke 0 – 2 Newcastle” Brilliant.

Stoke 0 - 3 Newcastle
The inspiring signing of Alan Shearer by loyal chairman Mike Ashely will have a huge impact on this game. Stoke are a physical side but Newcastle should cope with that and with two world class strikers in Owen and Martins this could be a big upset.

Mark “Nostradamus” Lawrenson says
"Stoke have enjoyed a lot of luck at home this season, but there's no substitute for pure class and that's what newcastle have in Alan Shearer. Long balls and long throws won't get past Shearer."
3-1 to Newcastle

"Newcastle have really been struggling on the road this season. Their confidence as a team has got to be zero at the moment, with the shearer effect already worn off after that pasting by Chelsea. Stoke on the other hand are looking really strong, they will be really up for this to almost guarantee safety. The atmosphere will be intimidating and i can't see anything other than an easy Stoke victory."
Predicts: Stoke 0-2 Newcastle

"Stoke have had a solid, if unspectacular, home record this season, but can they boast celebrity fans like Ant & Dec, Jimmy Nail and Gazza? I'm not convinced the likes of Nick Hancock and Dave Harold can compete against that quality".
Predicts: Stoke 0 Newcastle 5

He's going to buck the trend and predict a Stoke WIN, only for us to get done by some dodgey owen dive for a penalty!
Who's the ref for this one?
I think we're being a little overconfident on this one! It's going be tight!

Wuuuuurrrl Gary, my predictions have been piss puuuuuurrrr so fuurrrrrrrr this season. I mean, even a smacked up monkey with a crayon could have got one-third of the results right through puuuuurrrrrrrre chance.
So, I've been boffing Mystic Meg for the last week in the huurrrrrp that some of huuurrrrr powers will rub off on me, thus improving my piss puuuuuuur predictions.
I've decided that there can only be one outcome from Satuuuuurrrrdays game, and that's still a Newcastle win. I know they're a bunch of hopeless fuckers, who are about as wuuuurrrl run as a Mick Quinn marathon attempt, but I'm sayin 2-1 to Newcastle.

"Newcastle's incredible out-of-window signing of Alan Shearer will tip the balance in their favour, with the old Shearer-Owen partnership being too much for Stoke's defence. Shearer to score the only goal of the game. Stoke 0 Newcastle 1"
