Put yourself in lawro's position, analyse the facts and come up with YOUR prediction for saturday's crunch game at the Britannia Stadium.
To try to help you, here's some updated facts that might assist you:
* Newcastle are 18th in the league, Stoke City are 13th * Newcastle have only won 2 away matches all season, Stoke are the 7th best team in the league at home * The form guide of the last 8 games has Stoke in 7th place and Newcastle in 18th * Stoke are unbeaten at the Britannia Stadium since Boxing Day
So what do you reckon?
I bet Lawrenson goes for.......
Stoke City 1 Newcastle United 2

Bearing in mind the current league placings and our fantastic home form, I'm going for Stoke City 0-2 Newcastle United.

How about: -
“Mike Ashley’s inspired decision to bring in Alan Shearer, a mediocre pundit on Match of the Day with absolutely no managerial experience whatsoever, will make the difference in this one. The bunch of players they have that have been shyte all season that have been playing like a bunch of 10 year old girls will overnight become world-beaters, as they showed in his first match in charge against Chelsea. Stoke, in fine form at the moment, will have no answer for the magic pixie dust which Shearer will sprinkle on The Toon
Stoke 0 – 14 Newcastle”

I was going to agree with you VP and go for 1-2 but didnt he also do some coaching up there briefly? Based on that I think the genius that is Lawro will go 0-2

"Well Gary, Stoke have relied on their home form this season to keep up, and they can't keep winning at home. Now that they have won away the pressure will be on, so despite them being on a good run, with 1 defeat in 6 and 3 wins from the last 4 games, I think they will struggle against a Newcastle side that has my mate Al in charge. They look ready to unleash a great run and defend their Premier League status given the 30 minutes of effort they put in against Chelsea. Their pedigree with shine through in this one.
Prediction Stoke 0 - 7 Newcastle. Shearer to come off the bench and turn around Newcastles fortunes with a hat trick.
In other news, Iran and America become best buds, Korea agree to stop testing bombs for the greater good of the world, China allows all political prisoners freedom, and Eastenders is cancelled for being shit.

No mart, but i know he currently has us on 13 points.
Which isn't a million miles away from our actual total.

Newcastle will have all the answers to stokes direct approach, and have a fantastic defender in collocini to cope with the delap throw all day long. Alan made a cracking start to life as a manager and I think it will continue on saturday, as everyone knows Stoke are a poor side at home. Shola Ameobi is in fine form as of late, and will be determined to prove the potters he was worth a contract.
Stoke 1 - 4 Newcastle

Stoke have been effective at home all season and have picked up 28 of 35 points at the Britannia Stadium.
They will be difficult to handle with them getting lots of balls into the box early.
Shearer will need to galavanise his troops for this one, to cope with the test Stoke will provide.
Stoke 0-2 Newcastle.

Stoke are a physical side something which newcastle have struggled with in the past. But everything goes out the window as they have appointed Alan Shearer as Manager and its a formailty they win. They are still a top 4 club. stoke 0 newcastle 3

Some classic efforts gents, and bonus points given to those who have taken the time and trouble to write his little intro bit for him.
i'm tempted to send a link to the bbc sports team so he can copy and paste it in.

well stoke have got a fantastic home record beating the likes of arsenal, tottenham, sunderland, and also getting a point of liverpool. Newcastle are terrible on the road.
So i can only see this going one way gary
Stoke 0-3 Newcastle

Because I pay absolutley no attention to Stokes terrific home form and Newcastles dyer all round performances i'm going to predict a 0-2. Stoke are a big pyhsical team who will launch balls into the box from everywhere, Newcastle have a terrific defender in Fabricio Coloccini as he showed on Saturday against Chelsea. The new manager will hearald results as of this week. Stoke have a really inform striker in James Beattie so he is bound to not score. An easy win for Newcastle

“For the murrrrrrment, I will continue to predict Stoke to lose every match however when I appear on Match of the Day I will continue to back them to stay up. Yes, I am a contradictory cunter however if I predict all options then I am bound to get it right…….I am now off to lick some windows and eat some crayons……..Stoke 0 – 2 Newcastle”
