If his comedy isn't to your taste then that's fine...sadly, the unaspiring, uneducated 1970s timewarp that is Stoke-on-Trent is bound to be almost unanimous in its distaste for him based on nothing more than him wearing eyeliner and having a weird hairdo.

Winger fancies Russell Brand, he told me over a glass of Sancerre on our Bozzy Rimming trip to Belgium.

C'mon fella - give us some credit will ya? This "you don't get him so you're a moron who lives in the 70's" is getting a bit tiresome now to be honest ;D My point is the fact that being a "bit zany" doesn't make you funny. You'll be telling me The Mighty Boosh is comic genius next

I'm a big fan, hate his stage stuff as pre-written stuff doesn't work for him live but off the cuff interviews he's given are comedy genius and his writing is superb.
Have read 'My Booky Wook' which was genius and 'Articles of Faith' which is a must read for any footy fan who likes his writing. He is a very dedicated hammers fan and has been since a small child, wouldn't think it to look at him I know but he's been an Upton Park regular since he was old enough to understand football

I like the ladm he he is honest about his mistakes. And to be fair, if I had rogered Andrew "Ball" Sachs grand-daughter, I would be telling everyone about it as well! Besides, as Sachsy hasnt done anythinbg since Fawlty Towers, you would think he would be grateful for the press...

Brands stand up is awful. But his social commentary and reaction is fantastic. Perfectly written article.

Stewart Lee is superb imho.
sketches can be a bit ropey mind.
R Brand is brilliant & appalling in equal measures 99% of the time.

I used to buy The Guardian until this idiot started writing for them...I find him exceedingly irritating and laboured...like listening to an octogenarian with Alzheimers trying to make a point and finish a sentence...
It's painful..
It ain't funny and it ain't clever..
The Ben Elton of The New Millenium...

I think Mr Brand is Superb But Ponderland is fuckin god awful, half of what makes the guy is quick witted clever retorts/observation (the other half being his writing) but pre-conceived comedy writings spoken on stage in an attempt to make it sound off the top of his head is not his strong point

I was one step ahead of you there wizzard, I stopped buying it a long time ago. I was especially pleased with my decision when I saw that that flabby Christian reject in a v-neck sweater was holding the sports column for Mr Brand.

Never had much time for Russell Brand, whenever I've seen bits of his standup, or his woeful MTV awards appearance I thought he looked like a dickhead and was unfunny to boot. However, having said that, I caught his interview on Howard Stern a month or so ago and it was brilliant. Got just the right mix of humility, self-deprecation and wit in there.
So now I don't know what to think...!

I think Brand is one of those 'love him or hate him' type of characters, i happen to think he's hilarious, but can understand why others don't. Going slightly off the point a bit, my missus thinks he's the sexiest man alive, and goes moist at the very mention of his name. Considering he's the exact opposite of me, in looks and intellect, i'm not sure what my long term relationship prospects are ??? Oh yeah, i love the Boosh too...does that make me a cunt?

Decent thing!!! You mean crawl into the nearest hole never to reappear. No he went to the States to pose and promote himself. Its called running off like a big girl. He is a complete waste of human being. As I said last night prison for him and his ilk is the only answer until capital punishment is allowed.

;D Soz mate. I'll grant you that once in a blue moon Brand will say something mildy amusing but the Mighty Boosh is the sin of all sins as far as "comedy" goes (in my opinion obv). I watched about 3 episodes and just sat there constantly shaking my head thinking "What the Fuck is this Shit?". I'll pray for you that you develop some class in your older age

Like Facebook, the Mighty Boosh is for the teenagers and the gays.
Brand on the other hand (when he's not abusing pensioners) is a national treasure.

The Boosh has me in hysterics, must admit i didn't get it at first, and i can really understand people thinking 'WHAT THE FUCK ??' As for me developing some class...i find swearing and farting funny as fook
