The best bit is one of the quotes underneath...
"West Brom are not "pretty". They're just shit. Please stop peddling this myth."

"Stoke play their way, they are perfectly entitled to do so, just as the rest of us are entitled to an opinion on it. Ours is brave football, heroic football, football that gives people entertainment, ignites dreams and offers value for money, an absolute moral imperative. Albion football is football with principles, a belief system, a style you can be proud of, win, lose or draw." I really did laugh out loud, fucking priceless.

Dr Goebbels can dress it up however he sees fit, but it doesn't alter the fact that they're shit.

The picture of Pulis and Mowbray at the top of the article just about sums the situation up, doesn't it? TP, animated, showing passion, looks excited to be there - Mowbray doing a good imitation of Mr Glum. If the Baggies' football is so sexy and inspirational, how come he doesn't have a smile on his face? ;D

Yes, we all saw how very proud they all were of their team on Saturday.
Utterly deluded two-faced dick heads.

Who the hell writes that pretentious, pompous guff in the Baggies programme? Is Jezza Alexander freelance? Anyone would think they're a mix of the Harlem Globetrotters, the A-Team and the sodding Dambusters

I have just the title for the west brazil managers autobiography........Mobrey Dick.......he could have a whale of a time spouting off all the stories relating to the freeflowing easy on the eye attractive football he introduced to the premier league. It would be a reasonable read for the first two thirds but there would be fuck all going on in the last third.

I'm fairly confident in my assertion that only one set of fans left the Hawthorns on Saturday with pride in their players.

I bought the programme on Saturday just to see what they say about us. They're much nicer than usual, actually. Lots of references to height, though.

interesting discussion going on beneath the article as well. It seems the readership of the guardian are deeper thinkers than other papers. One of the WBA fans stating he his sick of hearing Mowbray whine on about the passing football but pointing out that journalists do ask him the same questions every week after they lose. It does seem a fair point that it is the press that keep these myths about team's style alive whereas this does not always parallel the belief's of the fans themselves. He even hopes Stoke stay up as do a number of other fans (Sheff Utd for example).
I think overall the whole "style" of football question has been done to death this season and hopefully by next season (pray we are still there) people will be bored with the same old story and find something else to talk about

There's a few comments saying how much more money Stoke have spent and higher wage bill. Did Carson go to brazil cox he was asking for too much money and didn't he cost them 5million

A very entertaining article, and good comment bellow from baggies, stoke and neutrals alike.
I'd forgotten the 'medieval cannons' comments, unbelievabley pompus shite.
A lot of baggies fans blame their chairman for not backing mowbray - fair enough they didn't spend in january but they were looking down already by then. Not sure on wages but they certainly spent a fair bit on Valero (£4.7m) zuiverloon (~£2.5m) marek cech (£1.5m), Carson (£5m) and meite (£2m) - i think they at least matched us for transfer fees in summer, in fact looking at that they have probably just about matched us including our january buys. They have also had ~4 loan players (anton-fortune ,jay simpson, donk and some i can't remember) which don't come for free when you're in the prem (i think you're talking best part of a mill fee for most loans).
Maybe they are hamstrung for wages, but even if they hadn't been, who's to say they would have bought the necessary players in? Looking at the list of signings above, can you really say that any of them have been anything more than a moderate success, even if you take into account they've been playing in a dysfunctinoal side?

They weren't complaining about not being backed with money when they were able to offer Hoofer 3 times his wages at Stoke were they? What goes around comes around. Twats
