I reckon we could sign him this pre-season,Pulis is obviously a big fan of his and he did well whilst here on loan. With M'boro looking doomed he could be available for transfer,i know we have a few centre halfs but you can never have enough good centre halfs.Get you money on him joining us this summer.

He was good when he was with us. Id like to see him in, he would be better than the back up we have now.

Would be a completely pointless signing, and waste of a wage.
Significantly weaker than Abdy or Ryan, and IMO no better than Sonko or Cort. Plus his injury record is horrible.
We will need better, even as a squad player.

someone mentioned another Boro player, O'Neil was nailed on to be joining in the summer, i'd be happy with that

You're right with your first thought CB is not an area we need to make additions without shifting some of what we have already Cort, Sonko at any rate, both Danny and Wilko are decent CB's. attacking full backs/wing backs would give the manager more options with formation imho, Not that the gaffer is any great believer in changing formation or tactics. Not really having a dig I aknowledge the blokes done a fantastic job for us but would like us to go at some weaker teams a bit more aggresivley.

Have you watched Wheater this season he's been absolute PANTS.

O'Neil would be a good signing - although Portsmouth might be favourites if they stay up. Riggot would have been a good signing at the start of the season but I think (hope) we have moved on. As far as the back four is concerned, another left back makes more sense than another centre back. Signing another left back would enable Higgy to be cover for our centre backs.
EDIT - I see Paul Spencer agrees with me! ;D

O'Neil is a good shout, so too Tuncay. Otherwise, the rest of their squad is either not good enough, or else overpriced (Downing, Wheater, Alves, Johnson)

o'neil totally i would like to see him come in with another centre mid to make plenty of compo for positions
i think we will see one c/b leave either sonko or court with on more coming in i think kelly will stay and a left back comming in

Going on my prediction that Boro, Newcastle and West Brom will all go down, i'd have to say there are few players i'd like to see us sign, the theme from Boro and Newcastle is big named, over-priced, bigtime charlies who i wouldn't want at the club. Out of the 3 squads i can only name a few i'd like us to sign, O'Neil (Boro) Morrison (WBA) Brunt (WBA) Nolan (Newcastle) any other suggestions?

Habib Beye without a shadow of a doubt. One of the best right backs in the Prem, if there ever was a Pulis type of player then he is it. Would run through brick walls for the team, but if Newcastle do go down, there is probably bigger clubs than us who are going to be in for him, however you never know, with Abdoulaye's comments about how good it is to be at Stoke at the moment, he might just be able to have persuasive word for us.

Although he might well be hoovered up by someone bigger. When injury free he's one hell of a player. Guthrie? Gutierrez? Unfortunately the rest of the 'Castle squad struggle with injury and wouldn't be worth the effort. Agree that Morrison from the Baggies will improve us, otherwise possibly Greening as a bit of squad strength. EDIT: how did I forget Beye?! If we don't sign him this summer I'll be surprised! ;D

They would have joined us in the last transfer window but Boro wouldnt let them go at that point as they were fighting relegation.

Think Beye is destined for greater things than us unfortunately, he's been heavily linked with Arsenal all season. Don't think Martins would be good to have around tbh, Newcastle friend on mine says he's one who can 'disrupt' the dressing room. Ay decent right sided midfielders at the above mentioned clubs who would fit in? I'd like to see Lenny as cover next season

if we are to move on next season then sadly i think we have to. Not having a go at Higgy at all, he's been steady this season, but he isnt a 'real' left back is he, he'd be much better as cover for Faye or Ryan assuming one of Cort and Sonko will leave in the summer

Of the clubs looking likely to go down, these are the players I'd be happy if we signed (not including unrealistic targets:
West Brom: Brunt, Koren
Middlesbrough: Wheater, O'Neil, Tuncay
Newcastle: Beye, Bassong, Geremi, Nolan, Lovenkrands
Sunderland: Whitehead
Hull: Giovanni

higgy does need replacing, but only because at heart hes not a left back, great centerback but ryan and faye together are better, much rather have higgy as cover than sonko

I personally think Riggott would be better cover than Sonko and Cort, but we could probably still find better.

Not drop Danny altogether but pick teams for games. For example you might pick the current back four for home games against top teams, more attacking full backs for lesser teams and sometimes change to 3,5,2 when chasing a game. Its about being able to adapt and have flexibility. Not really in TP's mind set I know but just how I'd like to see us develop.

Gutieres at Newcastle is a very good player, has impressed me every time I have watched Newcastle. Morrison at WBA is a very decent player too. Steven Taylor is also a very good defender in my opinion.

Tuncay no (speak to any Boro fan his workrate and skill is excellent but misses 5 to score 1. not acceptable at this level) Beye and Nolan yes. Bassong, Geremi and Lovenkrands not good enough. Whitehead - Seriously limited footballer, we already have much better in reserve. I'd prefer us to go for Leadbitter much better prospect. Giovanni - typifies everything that we don't need - a mard arse Brazillian who you have to carry when he's not in the mood - No thanks.

Geremi - utter rubbish.
