I watched him put some pretty clueless teams out at the Brit?

To be honest fellas, Fergy would have struggled with the players we had back then. He never stood a chance. I prefer to remember him as the totally committed and dependable fighter he was for us as a player (twice).

Always remember Kamara nearly cutting Strachan in half with a tackle in front of the Boothen end

Yep. that sounds like him! Well done to him on that.
Seriously, he cost us the princely sum of £12.5K from Swindon at a tribunal and he went on to play in the Premier League after leaving us. These things are all relative to where you are at the time but, all things considered, he was a brilliant signing for us.
And thanks for the well deserved team/manager of the week Chris.

Kam is one of the most commited whole hearted players I have ever seen at Stoke and he could play a bit too!
As a manager he was working with other peoples players in a ramshackle club with no leadership on or off the field and not much money! A virtually impossible job.

Yes he did Ilford but we were desperate for a striker then and, yes, it turned out to be a crap signng. Can't really crucify him for that though, just didn't work out and his other players were (mostly) shit!

I prefer to remember him as a Stoke player rather than manager too.

I used to love Kamara when he playedfor us. I was serving in the RAF in Oxfordshire at the time, there were loads of lads from Swindon who were gutted when he left there. He wasn't universally liked at Stoke and I'll never forget him being reffered to as "the miss-guided missile in midfield" in The Oatcake once, but he was 100% committed. I don't think he had the best of chances as manager here. He inherited a crap team, took it to bits and rebuilt into another crap team but with the money available I don't think he had a chance.
