Chelsea v Bolton Liverpool v Blackburn Sunderland v Man Utd
Portsmouth v West Brom Boro v Hull Stoke v Newcastle
If the top 3 fixtures pan out as you would expect with wins for the big 3,a point would certainly negate our weaker goal difference
If Boro and West brom games are draws as well, that would a fine set of results

Just seen this on the BBC website:
"Newcastle now face a crucial visit to Stoke City next Saturday, knowing they will need to produce a huge improvement on this display to hold any hopes of bringing anything back from The Britannia Stadium." ;D
I think Pompey will beat the Baggies and will probably be OK.
Sunderland are right back in it though.

You're quite right Northwich, but isn't it great to know that, in reality, we don't need to watch other club's results as long as we do the business.
Won't stop us looking though will it as, everytime they fail to close the gap, there are less and less games for them to do so. Happy days, but we're not there yet.
Looking good though!

We have to get at that big haired muppet at the back for Toon. He is dodgy as fuck at the moment.

Totall agree with all the above posts. Lets mate the Bear Pit a Fortress next week and sing our hearts out for the lads. Let's make next Satdy better than this. 6 more points and i think we can then say we are safe.

Do we want a Hull v Boro draw, or are we far enough ahead of Boro to hope that they beat Hull?

Certainly looks grim for the north east teams now I think castle might get out of it tbh but the other two look doomed which is great news for us and our fellow promotee's Dull Written before this weekends fixtures......... "Similarly 14th placed Sunderland could easily be dragged into trouble as three of their four remaining home matches against teams in the top six as is Middlesbrough who still have to face Aston Villa, Manchester United and Arsenal."tinyurl.com/dn5wzm

Stokes game this saturday will be insane! Newcastle will come all guns blazing. They have to. The first 15/20 mins will be absolute madness. what chance me driving down to cornwall, pitching the tent for the wife and kid, driving back to the brit for the match then driving back to cornwall after the match without getting a divorce or speeding fine!! think i'll go for the option of pitching the tent and finding a pub with setanta!!! I'll miss the atmosphere but thank you setanta ;D

I'm tipping a draw for us.
For the first time this season, I've looked above us on the table and wondered who we can get past with a run of good results. We are only a game behind Citeh and Spurs.
The reality hits. Just stay out of the bottom three.

Next weeks game is so crucial if we win we go 9 points clear of 3rd Bottom! WE MUST WIN! & then i'd be satisfied with a draw against Blackburn

Chelsea 3-1 Bolton Liverpool 1-0 Blackburn Sunderland 0-2 Man Utd Portsmouth 2-1 West Brom Boro 1-0 Hull Stoke 3-2 Newcastle A west brom victory would be better for us as they are doomed anyway IMO, and a boro draw would be a better result for us as it doesn't help boro much and it keeps Hull in the equation. But i just can't see West Brom getting anything there, Portsmouth are a decent side of dead ball situations, and West Brom are dreadful at defending them, and i can see Boro getting a long over due 3 points, but i still think they are relegation bound. I think our game could be a high scoring one, Newcastle in particular will be targetting this game as a MUST win given their run-in, and we'll be desperate to pull further away.

I would be happy with 3pts from our next two home games. This would mean we need another 3pts from our remaining 5 matches to be comfortable. I don't think that is too difficult. Perhaps TP will revert to type and we draw the next 6 matches 0-0 or 1-1 leaving us effectively safe on 41 pts come our trip to The Arse! Whichever way you look at it we would need a balls up of George Dubya proportions to get relegated.

I have a feeling thats the target TP keepson about, be interesting to see what happens when we get to that level, do we revert to a Brazil-esq football style, or even go for it and play 5 up front..!!

Massive game for us yet again, but with our current form, you just feel confident that we will do the CarTOON army and take another three points putting Shearer in at the proper deep end.
You would think that Pompey will beat Brazil at the weekend, pretty much ensuring their safety. As for Sunderland, well it's a bad time for them having to play the Shit. They could find themselves in the shitter this wkd.
