"He came to Stoke to go to war" should be sung over "He came to Stoke, he wanted more" which doesn't make sense. If it was "He came to Stoke (he wanted more)" that would make sense, but as you can't sing parentheses then it makes it sounds like he came to Stoke and felt dissatisfied.
