Where was the booing of the oppositions national anthem? Football is becoming to sterile now a days. A good jeering of an anthem sets the tone for a good atmosphere during the game. Last night there was no whistling or anything hence a very poor night out with Morressy like atmosphere!

Lord - the England faithful were only allowed to show their pleasure or distain last night via the medium of body language. If you looked at the crowd during the national anthems, there was some ferocious frowning and head shaking going on. After the goals there were handshakes and smiles aplenty.

They booed at the minutes silence, is that ok? No, but a booing of an Anthem has been a trait of the England fans ever since one can remember. It is as much part of England as Wembely stadium its self

it`s only the same as stoke fans booing the oppositions players names as they get read out over the P.A. the days of `mutual respect & back slapping` are gone.

Lord, I was being sarcastic. If we boo at the national anthem it is said to be disrespectful, but if we don't we are wrong. No win situation seems to come to mind

The crowd booed the ignorant bastards who shouted during the minutes silence. They really should have turned on the bastards and identified them and had them thrown out. Football can do far better without the scum!!!

Why was there a minutes silence? To pay respect to the fans who died at the ivory coast v malawi game.

Why was there a minutes silence? To pay respect to the fans who died at the ivory coast v malawi game. No, for the England doctor of 16 years who died. And fans started shouting and singing stuff - not sure if it was the opposing fans, so fans booed the people who were making the noise and being disrespectful!

A joint one maybe to the fans and the english docter who died? I'm sure fifa reqested to all nations playing this week to hold a minutes silence for the fans who died.
But it was a disgrace that the the minute was not held in silence.

There was a disclaimer on the big screen and the tannoy about 10 minutes before kick off saying that booing of the national anthem will not be tolerated, it said at the bottom "you have been warned."
I think it shit people up, I was actually there and was amazed that it actually worked!
About the minutes silence, I can't be sure but it sounded like the noise was coming from the away supporters, then everyone started booing them.

The minutes silence was for the fans that died and the black arm bands were for the england doctor that passed away.
