nowt against Shearer for England, scored some great goals.
what has always made me dislike him since, was when Sir Bobby was in charge at 'Castle, they were struggling and Shearer was sat behind the bench just pointing and laughing at Sir Bobby !! (shown on MOTD and sky).....very poor Mr Shearer, very poor, and not respectful at all of a footballing Knight. Hang your head in shame !

Gullit Hoddle and Robson all got sacked as soon as they fell out with Shearer. What will happen now he has to undermine himself?

Not forgetting his kick in the face of neil lennon at leicester, then saying - if you charge me i won't play for England again, or words like that. Great footballer, but a complete knobhead IMO

What a load of boll****, shearer was a great player, who simply loves HIS club and is trying to help them in an hour of need. Remember he turned down playing for the sh*t to play for his home town club, he does a lot for charities in Newcastle, is a family man and I know he gets on well with Sir Bobby.

Kicked Neil Lennon in the face. Undermined numerous managers, knowing he was untouchable. Bit of a dick.

Two points
(1) Shearer has consistently spoke well of us on MOTD
(2) I would have loved for him to have played for us....superb CF

The only problem I have with Shearer is that he retired from England so young.

And the time when he punched the Stevenage player in the ribs whilst laying on top of him during an FA Cup game in the late 90's.

What a load of poo some people spout on here...
So, it's ok to idolise (and rightly so) the sheer hard-bastardness of our own heroes from Denis Smith to Big Faye yet Shearer, one of England's all-time legends, is a wanker for being ultra-competitive. Jesus wept.
Problem with the young'uns these days is they've never seen real men's football as it used to be played (Hunter, Bremner, etc...). Now it's like a poxy ballet where no-one can go shoulder to shoulder, let alone take man and ball.
Shearer's a true lionheart and proud Englishman. Good luck to him, I say, but not Saturday week...

Hello edgy, welcome to the Oatie...
Shearer received TWO red cards in his entire playing career.
What you call 'dirty' used to be the acceptable norm and the game was a much better spectacle for it. A man's game that didn't resemble a european ballet of fakers, cheats and divers...

A man's game that didn't resemble a european ballet of fakers, cheats and divers... He received two red cards in his career through a combination of his "name" reputation and him making sure the ref didn't see it. I don't think he was even sent off for the Lennon incident. Routinely catching people with your elbows insn't acceptable.

Spot on Ruts, the double standards that some on here have is quite frankly fucking embarrassing. Anyone with a brain would have loved Shearer to play for us whether he caught people with elbows or not.

He made Keane look like a bell end (not the hardest job I know) shearer can`t lose by taking control of castle for these 8 games, i do think they`ll go down though. shearer has been a prick in the past, but........... he made cunty keane look the twat he is ( the way shearer handled that incident was pure genius). he was a legend in an england shirt. he turned the shit down for newcastle & now EVERY shit fan hates him for it. and these are reasons to like him, but i hope we dick his team though. ;D

Im sorry but ok shearer has had a few bad incidents over his career, because he plays with passion and occasionally goes over the edge... well in that case we should stop playing ricardo fuller now then? I didnt think so ...
shearer was a great striker and has been 1 of the few pundits who have continually praised stoke and saying that we would stay up. A legend!!! (an overly used word, but 1 that describes him)

Shearer is one of the best, if not the best, striker this country has ever produced. He had absolutely everything, power, pace, a great touch, he could head the ball, he had the ability to score from inside and outside the box. He was as close to the complete centre forward as I have ever seen in an England shirt.
The fact that he turned down a big money move to the Shit to play for his home town club earns him massive respect in my book. The bloke is a legend and the sort of player you would give your right testicle for to have been born in Hanley rather than Gosforth. I can't wish him well at Newcastle for obvious reasons, but I certainly think he's worthy of a bit more respect than he seems to be getting on here.

2mil payoff if he keeps them up if he takes them down it wont matter because he stayed away long enough for the damage to be done by somebody else
