People a few weeks ago would have him back. A player that can't get in the shittest defence in the league and retards on here would have him. It's quite worrying.

A decent attacking full back for a Champ club IMO but never looked good enough for the Prem

Its all about opinions??...unfortunateley some on here would believe our Tony if he said Ronaldo was shite!!!!...If people rated Hoefkens then fair do,s if they dont then fair enough..but ffs stop trying to batter somebody who had nothing but good things to say about SCFC when he was obviously pushed towards the door to justify the manager who rightly or wrongly ( opinions ) did not rate him??.... Thats not a dig at TP just those who agree with EVERYTHING he does when he and Hoefkens both praised each other

If he was forced out by Pulis why did he play pretty much every game from October to the end of that season?

Hoefkens is a good bloke and I would be pretty annoyed if I was not in the side given their recent defensive form. Since their clown of a manager rejingled their defence a bit it has got worse, from my outside view anyway.

I liked Hoefkens but I wouldn't have him back. In some of the games I've seen him play for West Brazil he leaves gaping holes when he goes forward and more often than not can't get back to cover his mistakes.

Feck off back to Belgium you little two faced cry baby Sorry if already posted... msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11698_5130830,00.html Hoef was never less than 100% committed and professional during his time at Stoke, and there was nothing 'mardy' about his attitude with us - even when his manager was shamelessly, and publically forcing him out of the club. A very good full-back IMO, head-and-shoulders better than his lousy replacement in Griffin. He isn't better than a lower-Premiership player (only because of a lack of pace, he's a poor man's Jose Bosingwa IMO) - but then we're only a lower-Premiership team. I would certainly have him back if it wasn't for Pulis having childishly burned his bridges with him.

Hoefkens as good as Bosingwa??? Dont think so and as much as most people liked him i think the very large majority see he isnt a Prem quality full back

Wasn't so very long Ryan was hinting about the same sort of thing.
Suppose you were telling him to fuck off as well were you?

I don't think he was forced out, but i also don't think he wanted to leave the club, i always found him to be a honest hard-working player who wanted the best for Stoke. He never really seemed to be a Pulis sort of full-back though, Hoefkens was regularly over-lapping the winger and commiting himself forward, possibly too much at times, whereas Higgy and Wilko don't do that as much, they tend to stay further back and send balls forward. Kelly looks like being one of the more attacking full-backs we've had at the club in a while though, but i think Wilko is a better overall defender.

A decent footballer and by all accounts a really good bloke. Carl had nothing but good things to say about Stoke. He always gave 100% and he did not cost that much money, yet folk on here choose to slag him off, it beggars belief it really does.
Are they jelous of his good looks and gorgeous wife...that must be it!

Look plain and simple he's spouted again to the press about not being in the team and intimating that he might leave due to that...
Ryan is a young lad and I'm sure he's learnt his lesson there...Hoef is a seasoned international and should know better!
Hoef was a good player and was the fans player of the year too but he let himself down, simple. In my opinion he engineered the move or at least aided it.
Honestly I wouldn't have had Griff back either after what he did re Derby but that is just my opinion.
Then he's gone and done it again, that shows form. There's a time and place to talk about your gripes and it isn't in the press.
Mardy mardy mard arse he's not a twatter but he's a mard arse

By the way I think Mowbray is a twatter but he's spot on with the trouble it causes to a team. Not something that is needed when you're fighting against the drop. Well let's be honest making ready for the drop! Please god

i liked hoefkens attacking capability when he played for us, but i was not impressed with his defensive capability, he was shocking at defending crosses and when he got forward he left a big gap that the centre half had to cover leaving us vunerable at the back. however i dont think hoefkens will be to bothered about leaving or signing for what ever team considering he has her to go home to every night www.vanessahoefkens.com/

Carl seems like a decent professional to me and he always acted with integrity at Stoke. Decent bloke and Championship player but some of his positional defending worried me a bit like that of John Halls.
Tone thought he could do better so we moved on.I dont think either Pulis or Hoefkens need slagging.

Decent player on his day but I think we saw him at fault for too many goals in the Championship especially back post headers and to think he started as a centre back with us. A very good defender when people are running at him but a very poor defender when it comes to heading.
That said I'm still to see more from Stephen Kelly than Carl but Kelly didn't go to Pulis asking for a lot more money did he?

Totally Out of Order Comments....You should be ashamed tbh
It's so easy to sit behind a keyboard and randomly slag off a player without any justification
Hoefkens gave very good service to this club, he was always 100% committed and was a deserving player of the year, whether he can cut it at this level is debatable, but his commitment should for this club should not be doubted. The manager obviously didn't fancy him, and dropped him when he was clearly one the better players at the club, but the way he handled that situation was commendable.

Dont want to say "told you so" but told you so! Mowbray is just trying to justify why he wont be playing for them again.

Re: Hoefkens likely to leave « Result #30 on 24 Mar, 2009, 3:06pm »
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hoof had a blazing row with Mowbray last week. He won't be playing for them again. He adores this area and is desperate to stay within commuting distance. Derby have been mentioned as have Burnley and Preston.
