I think we need to be positive and go out with intent to win the match, as we have showed this year if we don't then we will probs be 2-0 down very quickly and facing an uphill challenge to get back into it, even if it is against the Baggies we need to attack as its the best form of defence!!.
I therefore think its crucial that the starting midfield line-up shows intent at the Hawthorns and so I would play the one we played in the 2nd half against boro:
Lawrence - whelan - Delap - Matty
We could play Rory in the holding role as he is not quick enough to be on the wings anyway and we still have his throws. However I wouldn't be surprised to see Liam dropped with Rory shoved to the right and Diao continuing to play his "carried" role at present. If pulis is going to play that type of holding player, then I would much prefer to see Faye given the shirt
What are other stokies thoughts on this?

i can see pulis going there with the intention of getting in their faces & battering them as they are`nt up for that kind of game, i`d be both surprised & dissapointed to come away without 3 points, a lot hinges on whether mama`s fit as to what line up tone goes for and presuming he is`nt i can see a line up of- tommy,wilko,higgy,abby,ryan-liam,rory,whelan,matty-ric, beatts. thats our most attacking side & i see tone using it at albion & running them ragged. if mama`s fit then it`ll be mama & beattie up front.

But.....as you say, tone likes to be more cautios than you & i would like-especially away. either way though, i can see us doing them anyway, it`s simply a question of if we make hard work of it or just go & batter them.

mama's fit! is it you or me thats been living in a cave this week? i did`nt say mama IS fit dickhead, i said IF. ;)come on, we all know mama would run with a broken leg, my point is that with mama being a very fast healer he could(though unlikely) surprise us.

Imo If He Plays Diao We Are In Trouble .. Not Sure If He Will After His Reaction to being Substituted On Saturday ..But I Suppose He Is One Of The Best Midfielders In The League

I don't think Pulis will need much of an excuse to 'rest' Whelan and he's getting his story ready pretty early. To my mind we will be looking at Salif and Amdy and I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw the return of the Cress.

Its obvious that Pulis wont play Whelan after the 2 games with ROI, i think we will see Rory put in his rightful place in the centre midfield for west brom with liam and ethers on the flanks.

To my mind we will be looking at Salif and Amdy and I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw the return of the Cress. Salif has been woeful for weeks now, everybody (with the exception of maybe one person) knows it. I bet Abdoulaye doesn't get dropped on his return and you can be sure Gerrard will be in the Liverpool team a week tomorrow. If Pulis is laying the ground in order to keep Salif in the starting eleven by having an excuse to drop Glenn, then we have a rather worrying (and potentially serious) problem.

I'd go for...
Lawrence - Whelan - Pugh - Ethers
We can't invite The Baggies to attack us. IMO we need to win the midfield battle as soon as possible and keep the initiative. No Diao for me!

I think we can afford to really attack (which translates into Pulis as maybe play with one midfielder not holding) West Brom's midfield.
Therefore for me, it should be:
Delap Whelan Amdy Faye Etherington
