Who would have thought that 8 years ago in the playoffs when Gudjon Thordarson got his tactics horribly wrong in the 2nd leg against Walsall and we had to face up to the prospect of being "in the doldrums" of the 2nd division (league 1 as it is now known as ) next season having only the dream of making the premiership by watching match of the day.
To think that we would now be facing the very real possibility of staying in the premiership and potentially establishing ourselves there 8 years later would have been laughable then as people had forgotten what a great history our amazing club has being the 3rd oldest football club in the word (2nd professional behind Notts County) makes me very proud to live and breathe a POTTER .
Be loyal, Be proud, Be Stoke!!

Stoke City have come far in 2 years not 8. It's no coincidence that when Coates started spending the results improved and we are where we are now.
The neglect of the team for 20 odd years prior to that is nothing short of a disgrace.

I definitly agree that the last 2 years has been the biggest transformation thanks to Pulis and Coates, but what I meant was that back then schools in our area were unfortuantly made up of the dreaded gloryhunters as Stoke werent seen to be fashionable and looked like they were going nowhere in a hurry.
However when i have gone back to my old school I have visibly seen a dramatic increase in Stoke Shirts as we are back to where we hopefully stay, which can only be a good thing for the long term if they do not become the dreaded part-timers as it would mean continuation in the fanbase for a long time

Watched a film called Wonderland the other night, made in 1999. They were coming back from a Palace match and were listening to the results on the radio in the car. Bournemouth 4 Stoke City 0. Let's not get complacent if we manage to stay up for a few years, as so many sets of fans seem to.
