Got too love him.. "Whelan, 25, who made his debut in Trapattoni's first match in charge, the 1-1 draw against Serbia at Croke Park, has played a part in all eight of the games that the Italian has been at the helm. "Trapattoni has seen something in me and hopefully I've been putting the performances in," said Whelan. "The more games you play, the better you feel in terms of confidence and also match fitness. "That helped me because at the start of the season I wasn't playing as many games as I would have liked for Stoke. "If I am not playing well for Stoke then I don't think I would have a chance with Ireland." news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/7953681.stm

Glenn's turning into a very good player.
Yes, think he will be our matchwinner very soon.

I've certainly thought a lot more of him since his superbly taken goal at Villa, but all in all I have to say I've been a little disappointed with him this season, he's not stood out in our side as much as I'd hoped.

Glenn could be a 'slow starter' for us. I openly admit that I wasn't one of those clammering for him to be picked and, since his arrival, I had until recently been pretty disappointed in his performances. I think he even failed to shine against lowley opposition in the Carling Cup.
Having said that he has started to show glimpses of real form in recent weeks and was excellent against Bolton and Villa. It could be that it has just taken him a while to find his feet and I really am hoping for great things from him from here on in.

I watched his games played for ROI this season and have always said he should be a starter for us...

Hatchet:
His performances have clearly been good for Ireland but I can only judge him by what I've seen him do in a Stoke shiirt.
When he WAS given the opportunity to 'stake a claim' I was disappointed in his performances against very poor opposition where I would have expected him to 'shine'.
Having said all of that, he's been very good in recent games and I really hope that he goes on to be the player we thought we had signed. Not knocking him mate and I hope he shows us all what a great player he is.

Glenn's turning into a very good player. Yes, think he will be our matchwinner very soon. Glenn has always been a very good player. You only have to watch the Sheff Wed video of him and you can see that they thought he was a very good player and also played him in his best position. We bought him and it has taken to a month ago to put him in that position. Plenty of goals in him if allowed to move forward. Like any player, if played out of position they don't look as good as they can be. Steve Bould at right back didn't work but at centre back he was brilliant. Well done Glenn for showing what you can do, it adds so much to the team. Hope Glenn and Rory are our central midfield partnership for the remaining games.

he's deffinately starting to show us what he can do at this level, and isn't it refreshing to see someone having shots from distance and looking a real threat from this (im purposely excluding Salif from this statement, we all know he shoots from distance, and is lethal to the crowd, whoever told him he could shoot wants shooting themselves!!!) ;D
