Just watching sky sports news, and I noticed Crouch may pull out of England squad (Portsmouth tactically pulling him out).
They will obviously look for a similar replacement, Beattie anyone?
Also if Beatts was to be called up, would we want this with the potential of injury especially with Mama's injury, or is it a proud day when a Stoke player pulls the England shirt on?

I don't think it will happen but it would be great if it did as theres a bus load of us going down on Saturday vs Slovakia who could cheer him on!!

I would love him to be asked, to play im not so sure though? Slovakia are terrible and i would guess they have a very poor defense meaning bad tackles.

it would most probably be Kevin Davies he was expected to get a call up but didnt other than Davies i cant think of another English striker who isnt as good as Beattie or at full fitness

Kevin Davies was supposedly on the long list squad, so he is the natural choice.

In fairness Kevin Davies deserves a chance. He's one guy who would love to come to Stoke!!

i hope they dont pick him they will go with kevin davies Who'd have thought we'd see the day where Stoke supporters were saying they hope our star player doesn't get in the full England squad?

I would love to see him play for England - I would actually go on Saturday if he was playing. Mind, I'm also moving house, so I would get bollocked by the boss for skipping out on her.
But it would be worth it ;D

I heard Davies was dropped from the provisional 28?. Even so, if it is Davies that gets the call he wont get a game as long as Wayne fooking Rooney plays. I fully expect a Rooney - Heskey partnership......great.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I hope that at this moment Beats and Fuller are wrapped in huge wads of cotton wool...we just cannot afford to lose either of them.

Dan, I'd have thought Davies would be competing with Heskey for a place, not with Rooney. As it happens, Rooney and Davies would probably make a good pairing.

Agree with what your saing Lakeland. But with Heskey in the squad, it's a sure fire bet that Fabio will go with that Rooney - Heskey partnership? he seems to rate Heskey immensely. I'd love to see Davies get a go but from past occasions in friendlies regarding England, these new caps just usually sit on the bench or in the stands and we are treated to "How I play great for my club, but cannot be arsed for my country" ala Rooney, Lampard, Terry and Gerrard.
Anyone noticed that since Heskey has been with Villa they have started to turn a bit shite? maybe just me and all.
