Everytime we see a sports clip of one of the Premierships finest, it invariably involves footage of a Ferrari,Lamborghini,or Bentley pulling out of the training ground with not so much as a wave to those few loyal fans standing adoringly close by hoping for a fleeting glimpse of their chosen football icon.This may not be true of all superstars but in many cases it is sadly. I think that it is fair to say that this is the 'norm' and is typical of the brash arrogance and high self-esteem many Premiership footballers like to portray. This type of behaviour is not just the preserve of the The Premiership of course, as many players in the Championship also have the means to advertise their wealth in this way. Whatever happened to Jurgen Klinsmans battered old Beetle ?  Are there any players like this (understated personality) left in football. ? Is there a 'size 1 Carbon Footprint aware' footballer out there ? ??? |

Of course if there are any Stoke City footballers deeply embarrassed by this thread , and wish to change their image by going for a more suitable 'older' vehicle then feel free to contact me immediately.
(I have a rather nice 12 year old Nissan Primera with 145,000 miles on the clock which is quite unassuming and genuine.)

Didn't Klinsmann commute from his LA home whilst managing Germany? I remember reading about how Moritz Volz used to cycle to and from his Fulham games on a fold away bicycle  |
