Who is the referee that has convinced Ric that he can fall over so easily, so often and win all of these free kicks and penalties?
He's a great threat for us, but I feel he would be even more dangerous and useful to the team if he stopped falling over.
You would have thought that spending all this money on performance analysis somebody would have spotted that it doesn't work enough to keep doing it - or which referee it does work with and only do it in those matches.
Does this referee exist?
Did he spend years playing in Europe in a former incarnation?
It must frustrate the hell out of his teammates.

If he can stay on his feet then no doubt he will do, but when you consider some of those meaty challenges that go in then it's only natural that you're going to hit the deck. It's only through replays 'when it's slowed down' that we can see just how bad most of those challenges are.

Wembley, ahead of Ryan or Ab?
I think not

Why - I would move Ab into Salif's Role. He looks more composed on the ball. I'm not sure if he can read the game as well as Salif but it has to be worth trying.

I thought Pogatetz was gash and was lucky to stay on the pitch.

Pogatetz was dirty on saturday and fuller was targeted deliberatly.

I think it would be a big mistake to move Ab from centre back.
Delap or Amdy should be in Sal's role.

According to the Sun Wheater had the measure of Ricardo.....Yep, of course he did.

has anyone noticed that since tango man moaned for days about the penalty ric got against dull, the refs have basically given him nowt--even blatant fouls go completely unnoticed on almost every occasion

on saturday he was fouled a lot but at times his play acting acting has been embarrassing this season. if we play to his strengths like getting the ball down the channels for him to chase i think he will be as important to us in the remaining games as anyone.

i thought fuller was being battered left right and centre on saturday.
the challenge on him that won us the throw in that we scored from, was a complete disgrace. nearly broke his ankle

teams target Fuller for 'roughing up' because they know he has a short fuse and is likely to get himself sent off.
It's a big compliment imo when teams try and do this, shows how much of a threat he actually is

Targeted or not, his play acting is not working in his or the teams favour.

I wouldn't call it 'play acting', Fuller was constantly getting fouled on Saturday with absolutely no protection from the ref... I'd go as far as saying the referee was itching for a Fuller retaliation to punish. It's not the first time this season that the referee has been so busy looking out for Stoke's foul play that they have been completely blind-sighted to our oppositions. Fuller got clattered about 4 times before his booking (which in my oppinion was a rediculous decision, Fuller had his back to the defender and tried to shrug him off... the defender had his face about chest height and Fuller's hand accidently caught him in the face/eye. If it wasn't a complete accident it should have been a red card, you can't give a yellow card for something like that, there's no in between). Stoke have been playing this season with a disadvantage... and that is the way our game's are officiated. Referee's are coming into our game's thinking we're just out to hurt players (thank you Wenger) and they are scrutinizing all of our tackles... even in 50/50's the ref is only bothered about what the players in red and white are doing ("No, all 4 of us match officials didn't see Wright-Phillips' 2 footed lunge and then his kick out like the rest of the 28,000 people in the stadium... we saw the yob in a Stoke top kick the ball at him though, red card for him."). If we do stay up this season we have done it with one hand tied behind our back... just like if Man Utd win the league they have done it with a helping hand from the officials.
Premier League heirachy... like my arse.

Pogatetz was so involved in trying show how strong he was that he shoved mamma straight in the chest as soon as mamma walked on then decided to try and wrestle with him which allowed ryan to score
boro defence was totally transfixed in a bully boy tactic ..

Gotta agree that their two shrek-like defenders did bully Ric on Satdee. I feel though, that Ric was trying to win the shoulder to shoulder battle rather than go down and take the foul but then went down easily when it wasn't a foul.
P.S. wembley you've lost all my respect after a laughable comment of separating Ryan and Abdy!

if you seperate Ryan and Abdy you break up the best cb pairing we've had in years, leave it as it is and get a real defensive midfielder in during the summer, someone proven at this level

Some red and white tinted glasses being worn by some of you I think. Conspiracy rules A good defensive midfielder is a lot harder and more expensive to find and get than a centre back. We may well already have the player we need in Ab. Perhaps when we are safe TP should try it for the last few games

no no no no no!! we cannot split up abdy and ryan, end of story. Maybe for most managers a good defensaive midfielder is hard to find, but are you forgetting who our manager is?!?! He smells defensive midfielders a mile off, and when we stay up we'll be a far more attractive option financially and club wise to players

Exiled if that is the case, why haven't we being playing them ahead of an unfit salif? Some times you have to try these things - you have to admit he plays as a centre back as if he is a frustrated midfielder! Open your eyes to the possibilites.....

sorry Wembley, i didn't mean we have the defensive midfielders upto this standard right now, i meant that in the summer we will have a much higher profile and will be able to attract better players to the club.
I'd much rather have Rory and Whealan in the middle for the rest of the season as Diao is piss poor. Im just saying that with Ryan and Abdy playing so well right now, we can't break the pairing up, even when we are safe, they need to play as many games together as possible to carry on growing as a partnership imo
