he was anonymous Saturday BUT his ball in (which Alves should have buried) right at the death was top drawer quality.
he played well for England (as did others) away in Berlin & I think/guess thats stuck in Capello's mind.
Joe Cole cant get fit soon enough for me from an England point of view. equally I know his (& Villa's) form has dropped off but Ash Young should be ahead of Downing.

If the best England can conjure up is Downing, then we're fucked..

Ledley King too?!

King has had quality games for England - Euro 2004 he was excellent.
however now its a case of can he emulate the impeccable Rory McGrath & play world cup football on a dodgy knee (he didnt train either) or is he just fucked?

King has played a few games and gets selected!!
A joke, the fact that Ryan has played out of his skin and doesnt get a bloody mention.

Ryan is nowhere near good enough yet.

But at least a mention wembley?, I must admit, Im quite chuffed he wasn't involved in either England set-up, we dont want him injured. Hes crucial to us.

Whether or not you believe he is good enough for England or not, along with Tuncay he was their best player on Saturday.

I thought he was very poor on Saturday, didn't get in the game at all. I was amazed that ''The Game'' gave him 8/10. Then again, they did give Salif 7.
