Our previous 8 games have seen us get 11 points, 3 wins, 3 defeats, and 2 draws. If we can match that in our final 8 games, we will be comfortable on 43 points

Our form is very handy and not what you'd associate with a team going down. If we can just keep it going a little bit longer there's going to be a hell of a party!

Considering our previuos 8 games, i can see us gettin more than 11 points if we keep the home form up. WBA - A WIN Newcastle - H WIN Blackburn H - DRAW Fulham - A LOSE West Ham H - WIN Hull A - DRAW WIgan - H WIN Arsenal A - LOSE 14pts maybe? i don't see why not! I say bring it on, it's in our own hands now, and other teams such as castle have alot harder run ins than us, so in the inspiring words of pottermouth 'LETS DO EEEEEEEEEET'.

An wouldn't it be great if our only away win came against scrooge and his samba boys at the hawlthorns! I really hope we can go to arsenal on the last day safe and just have a massive party. It would be absolutley immense!

Yes, still think 38 points will be enough, 39 at the most, but my post was pointing out that if we remain consistent with our form, we will be more than safe......which is nice

Nice one Mat. There is always a side who pulls away and ends up comfortably safe. Why can't it be us? Don't forget, you get more money for finishing higher.

To be honest I think us and Pompey will move up a little. Brazil and Boro down for me and then one from Castle, Sunderland and Hull, with Blackburn safe as well, but below us

The sooner we get to 40 points the better I'll feel - it would be nice to have a party at the wigan game. Time to get the Hawaiian shirts out!

If we beat Wigan and it secures us in the Prem for another season, are we having another pitch invasion?

Has any team that has ever been promoted or stayed up, where the fans have invaded the pitch had a points deduction....no

I think 8 points will be plenty. Think we'll lose one game at home to be fair. Don't want to sound like Millermay but think Wigan or Blackburn may beat us- has to happen sooner or later. On the other hand think we'll win at either WBA or Hull.
I do think folk are setting the number of points to stay up way too high.

Pitch invasions for staying up are small-time.

Agreed, I just can't for one moment see how any of the current bottom three are going to get to 39 points, the cut off point is almost certainly going to be less than 40 points.
