Had a brilliant dinner time session at Kings Arms in Buckfastleigh today. Big discussion with Man Utd fan, Liverpool fan and Leeds fan about who has bin best manager so far this season. All agreed that whinger and tango are the biggest tossers and tactically moanbry and southgate the worst. But after much arguement about what constitutes Manager of the season agreement was reached, after several hobgoblins, that the best manager is one that admits his teams weakness when they lose and is gracious to the winning team in victory or defeat when appropriate. They also never blame the ref for losing and are always in support of his players. Most of all he will always praise the support from the fans. All 4 of us were obviously biased towards our own managers but they agreed that TP was a true gent and a very very good manager. So step up Tony Pulis Manager of the season 2009.

The very very best managers often tend to be notoriously ungracious losers though - they take losing very badly.
I think Roy Hodgson and Steve Bruce however, deserve a huge amount of credit for what they've done this season.

I'd love someone like Hodgson, Pulis or Bruce to get it tbh but we all know that it'll be someone like Ferguson

It'll go to whoever wins the league.
Hogdson would be a fair choice.

As long as Tone keeps us up, I don't care who gets manager of the year, but he stands a fair chance

Think Moyes deserves a heck of a lot of credit. Done a crackin job up there with very limited funding.
I'd go for Bruce though, been brilliant this season

Bruce, Moyes, O'Neill (until the last 3 weeks) and Hodgson are all good shouts, as is Tone to be honest.
Fergie is a great manager, but he's won all the gongs already and there should be some balance of achievements against resources and expectation.
