Really? Pulling for Hull?
Here's the way I'm looking at it. The next three matches, Hull has Pompey, Boro and Sunderland. While there'd be nothing better than having Hull go down - because they're easy to despise and it would leave Stoke as the only promoted side staying up - I'm thinking we want them to take some points out of these next three fixtures. Let's go ahead and have them draw with Pompey, bury Boro, and then we'll see where things stand with Sunderland.
What do you think?

As much as I dislike the orange one and his team I want them to stay up. If they do stay up I'm sure they would drop like a lead balloon next season add them to the 3 promoted teams, there would be 4 poor teams below us, this would give us a very good chance to draw better players in because we wouldn't be odds on to go down.

No matter what happens though it will guarantee teams dropping points. Pompey I think are the better equipped to stay up but Sunderland go to West Ham then have Utd at home. Personally see Pompey beating them as better and hopefully that day Hull will then be playing catch up with us. The more teams we over take the better and can't see Hull with their run in pulling too many points back on us. Good chance we can pass Sunderland and Hull next match which gives us even more daylight.
At the end of the day though if we get the points required we'll be ok. Hull have one win in 18 odd games have Boro. Both need a remarkable turn around.
Don't for one second rule out Sunderland for the drop IMHO

TP is right on this one. You just look after your own points and then it doesn't matter. Stoke to stay up, any three from nineteen others to go down.

Hull have by far the worst home record in the Prem. If we can win there then it will boost us and leave them fearing the worst.
I have confidently predicted since October that they are doing a Carlisle and will be relegated.
If we continue the Carlisle analogy, they will suffer successive relegations!

Thing is, if we do the job and get decent results from our corresponding three games, every result v Hull, win lose or draw, will help us.

sounds good to me actually! agreed, but if i was guaranteed stokes safety i'd like hull to stay up too, apart from brown i dont dislike hull, think they have done well and like us have used what they have well. in that predictor thread i had newcastle boro and brazil to go down and still think that will happen

We can tie ourselves in knots here fellas, trying to work out who we want to beat who.
Simple, get enough points ourselves and who gives a toss!

There is a slight flaw in that plan, you happen to have by far the worst away record in the division. We have actually won 3 home games, as opposed to your zero in the away wins column, so if we apply logic, home win ;D

I want Hull to stay up and Tango to get sacked - although Hull to go down and Tango to get sacked might be even better.

Much as Browny is a cock I wouldnt mind Hull staying up. Being stuck in a bar in Majorca for the final match last season (bad planning i know)there was 3 screens one of which was us another was Hull. So around 50 Stokies and same number of Hull fans screaming for our teams. of course we secured promotion and Hull went into the play offs and the Hull fans were very magnanimous about it even buying some of us pints. They have done well so far and have a point more than us lest we forget. For their fans i hope they stay up, Browny will move on no doubt and then we can all like them a bit more.

Completely agree with that,I think most Potters don't really dislike Hull, only the orange one.

Would like Pompey to beat them as I think they will be ok, really sucks Hull in to it as well.

Pompey have Bolton (h), Newcastle (a), Blackburn (a) and Sunderland (h) in their run in. They've also got West Brom at home, which assuming they win will put them on 35 points regardless of their result at Hull.
Personally, I don't see them going down, so I'd be happy if they turned Hull over and then got positive results in those other four matches.

Not for me, last thing I want is Hull to win a game or two when they're still not playing well.
Draws all round wouldn't be the worst for us. We'll get a couple of wins by the time we play them!

Surely if the teams in the bottom three lose against teams outside of it then that puts less and less pressure on us in our own games.
If Newcaslte, Boro or the Baggies play ANYBODY then surely it's better for them to lose those games rather than for them to pick up a point even if that match is against Hull, Pompey, Sunderland or Blackburn.
Whilst I totally get the principal that it's better for only two points to be achieved from a game rather than three when our relegation rivals play each other ...
Just at what point does that principal change and we start to look for the weaker teams to lose in such games?

All draws, so it takes less points of of what we need to stay up as more teams will be down at the bottom. as Spencer says it's better only 2 points are gained as a suppose to 3. Then if we win our games we'll gradually creep up the table.

I fwe win our next game and Boro lose their nextgame I reckon we will have a big enough cushion to forget them! So that'd be West Brom and Boro down with one to go!
Newcastle look the most vulnerable of the rest so it'd be nice for them to onlyt draw or lose from now on in GGOOAARRNN STOKE
