Dissappointed boro fan here.
I would like to say a few things about you as a club that you may think is me being gracious in defeat, but I truly think you as a club deserve the premiership.
-Despite the other boro fan on here (Who is clearly a tosser)you were by far one of the best Home fans I have ever witnessed. Having used to live in Kidsgrove I knew the area well and knew a number of stoke fans. They had always told me you were loud, but when you struggle to talk during a meaningless bit of football due to your songs and chants, you know that the club means everything to you. Just a couple of minutes in, you started to roar and it geniunely worries me that we could only chant how rubbish your support was, despite it being so overwhelming
-As a team you did tend to rely on set-pieces, but against a physical side, you are not expected to play us off the park. I was really quite worried that Fuller would score a few, but he dissapointed me greatly. Huth and Pogatetz seemed to treally bully him a lot though so I can't say what I really think he is like. We tried to use the throw in like Delap, and really failed miserably. We did not perform well yesterday(As you didn't either) and it was only going to be a small margin between the sides. I thought your centre backs were terrific and we would love to sign Shawcross!!!!
-Best of luck this season Stoke, your fans and team are staying up, and if you keep up this atmosphere all season, there is no doubt about your safety next season aswell!!
We look doomed and we want that donkey of a manager out NOW!!!

TBH matey,I thought you fans werent that bad either until they turned on the team at the final whistle. You judgement on the game is not far off right, although I didnt think the ref helped blowing every 10 seconds when sometimes he could have let the game flow a little.Never going to be a pretty game but we ground out the result and at this stage of the season is all that matters plus it gives us a little confidence going into our next game and one I fancy getting something from and maybe condemning another relegation rival to a big struggle.

st1 i agree boro did actually try make a fist of it (not like hull and fulham) but the ref just totally spoilt the game
shame as the one before against bolton i thought let the players get on with it
always belived that a good ref is one that you forget is there

It's nice to have an opposition fan on here occasionally with an intelligent viewpoint rather than a load bile to spout. You're right, neither side played particularly well although I have to confess you lot certainly played the better football and if I was to be honest, probably deserved a draw. We do owe a great deal this season to our centre backs, Shawcrosss and Faye and of course Delap but we were all impressed with Huth too. If you ever wanted to sell him...............! I actually quite like Southgate and hope you stay up. Much prefer to see Newcastle bite the dust.

good of you to come on, I thought your side played some good football in spells and if you had a killer finisher up front you would not be down where you are. You had a couple of cracking balls across our six yard box which someone like Beattie would have buried but you had just no one there.
Your lot were quite noisy yesterday I thought, you supported your side well from what I could hear.

well said that man, the atmosphere was on a par with the best of the season and I put that down to the boro fans getting us going and the side being challenged all over the pitch. we knew the lads needed our help yesterday.
Boro are actually one of the better sides we've had down here this season, they played a lot of nice football and that gypo you have playing for you run us ragged in the first half. There isn't much at all between our sides, a bit more of the siege mentality down there and they will stay up.

Thanks, good to see a balanced and genuine response from an away fan on here. The atmosphere was very good, up there with the best this season, I'm sure it lifted us towards the end.
Fuller didn't have his best game. He's the sort of player who can either be on fire on do nothing, and you can usualy tell within the first few minutes which it is going to be.
As for our centre-backs, you should see Abdoulaye on a good day! Shawcross is surely destined for a big club, but hopefully not for a while yet.
Good luck for the rest of the season mate, as long as it doesn't impact on us.

makes a change for another teams supporter to come on and be intelligent, imo boro certainly didnt deserve to lose that game, i thought they were well organised, played some nice football and possibly with a bit of more firepower they would have probably beaten us, but in saying all that, they walked away empty handed, tuncay and oneill were very impressive, their are certainly a lot worse teams in the league, sunderland bolton west brom to name 3, i think its going be tough for boro now though

Cheers Boro fan, nice to see an honest, sensible view from the opposition. I think you can (alebit it may to tough at the minute) take heart from how your team played and on another day you could have perhaps won. A bit of end product and I still think you can get out of it as it's still very tight. All the best.

It's a travesty that this genuine, insightful and intelligent post has just twelve replies, while the ignorant, obnoxious one from the other Boro fan, fishing for a response got over a hundred.

Yep fair commnet -we didnt play well at all for long periods yesterday and the majority of the attractive football was coming from the Boro BUT without real penetration though - too much diving and cheating for my liking too - but perhaps, that was born of desparation and sadly, endemic in the premier league now.
After an hour I was mentally calculating what only one point would mean but also recognising that were were begining to play a bit better and get on top, as the crowd wound up to full blast
yep definitely more balanced posts on this thread

Boro played better than other teams we have faced this season, so take heart. Your biggest problem was creating danger in the box. Every attempted through ball seemed to go out for a goalkick.
Our winning goal was down to a superbly timed substitution by Pulis. Sidibe was being marked by 4 defenders. When 2 of them realised the danger of Shawcross, Sidibe held them off.
By such fine margins, games such as these are decided.

Good effort from your fans yesterday for the first 20 mins but Your fans well & truly pissed me off with the "your support is f***ing sh*t chant" yesterday and from that point on i made sure i gave it some like never before. I think many others took that as a challenge yesterday and from then on the stoke fans were in the zone and that had a big hand in helping the players get through a very dodgy period. Result could have gone either way and boro played some nice football with some good efforts - tuncay & oneill - and some wicked balls across the box. As a club boro seems be doing what is right long term so i hope that if you do go down that you come straight back up. Still a lot to play for yet though and i could see venables back soon as assistant mgr...
