A tad ironic that they are saying we were quiet........and then in the next breath saying we were so loud it must be recorded!

I was in the John Smith stand, right up against the Boro fans, and from that position it is easy to tell how visiting fans can believe they're making more noise than we are: the Stoke fans near them are the quietest group in the stadium and the real noise is being generated 50-100 yards away. If, like the Boro fans, you keep the chanting going continuously, even if it's just at a moderate level, you won't hear much from the Stoke fans until we really step it up.
What's impressive about the crowd at the Brit is the way we have learned to time the real effort - yesterday it really started up at about 70 minutes and had a genuine effect on the game. Sometimes the crowd affects the ref, but yesterday it worked on the players; the crowd singing and shouting took a bit out of one or two Boro players and quite clearly energised a few of ours, especially the midfielders.
