I really do hate vale, but all this talk of them going into administration and possible relegation from the football league is a bit of a worry. Personally i would hate that. i know the rivalary is not really ther anymore ( because of how shit they are ), but they are still our nearest rivals. i really think stoke need to help them out a little bit not by giving them money but by playing a pre season friendly against them, as i dont think we will be doing it in the league for a long time. i think it would be good for us and them to have this fixture before next season just to create a bit of revenue for them i reckon we would get 20,000 if we are still in the premier league ( which i think we will be ). what are your opinions on this.

We play Newcastle Town, we could play non-league Vale!
I am not sure about the 'need' part of your argument.
All friendlies are fairly meaningless.

£24 wembley, i could buy them a striker and a CM better than what they've got with that, then put the remaining £20 towards the 'bring back vale market' fund ;D

Pre season friendly against the Vale !! you are joking arnt you, after we stop up we will be looking at the likes of Barca,Madrid,Milan etc and even if I dream Hamburg away !! for our pre season friendlies. Vale have got no ties with us other than they come from the same city..let their other neighbours bail them out the likes of Crewe,Macc and Shrewsbury , Nantwich,Alsager and Castle Town !!!

why do we "need" to help them out?????
Would they accept our help anyway as it's apparently all our fault they're in the mess they are!!
What they "need" to do is stop burying their heads in the sand and own up to the mistakes they've made financially, until they do that they'll just keep on makling the mistakes they already have ad infinitum!!
What is this, Comic Relief?

i keep hearing contrasting stories of the infamous `vale market`. can anyone confirm whether it was a legal market or a pirate `fake goods` market? if it was legal why shut it? also, is it true the vale had stewards on the local supermarket who were charging people to park there on match days???

vale market was the primary outlet for shell suits, nylon skirts and cheap jeans that had more cardboard content than denim, but they were only £8 a pair. If you were running low on sub standard quality plastic trainers, then you needn't have looked any further than vale market. Stoke on Trent has been static free since it's closure

Not sure if the market sold dodgy goods.
But the illegal aspect was that they had no permit from the council.
So stall owners would pay Vale to set up a pitch on their land, instead of paying for a pitch on Boslem Town market. Therfore the Vale were making money instead of the Council.
