does it wind anyone else up how higgy persistantly hits the ball down the line in hope someone will run on to it or chase it down, or even try's a 60yrs diagnol pass to sidibe to knock down.
u can count how many passes along the ground he makes. he does that many!!

Im actually starting to find it funny how he looks for those chipped balls down the line every single time he gets the ball. It never pays off but he keeps trying um! He is a good solid centre back but is out of position at left back. He will provide good cover at centre back nxt season for faye n shawcross

I actually think Higgy has been poor for a number of weeks now especially since coming back from injury, defensively he is sound but his distribution is chronic, worse than wilko's in my opinion, and people slate wilko for that part of his game. Although saying all of that, he is our best left back, seeing that Griff can't get a look in

he knocks a good lofted ball forward sometimes, but this seems to be his only option, very rarely looks to play it on the floor. He's solid defensively and good cover for CB, but I think it's a position we may need to look at should we stay up.

I recall in his first spell he used to ping 50-60 yard balls from centre back with great accuracy, however he hasn't now got the time or the outlets.

Higgy only does as he is told - you can clearly hear Pulis shout ANGLE every time he has the ball which means hoof to striker to win flick on, strangely enough he doesn't do it half as much when Ethers is in front of him.
Not Higgy's fault, he is only doing as he is told!!!!!

Early season I reckoned Higgy and Rory were solid as you can get performers, but now they look remotely moderate
Shows how far we have come I suppose
And thats in no way knocking either of them

He knows his limitations with the ball, so he lofts it seeing it a less likely to be intercepted by the opposition, and coming back at us. Defensively he does a good job, and if he was the all rounder we would like him to be, he's likely be playing for someone else.

Higgy plays a rugby pass, knock it to the corners and then we get the big Rory throw in,bloody useless most of the time.

thank you. someone with a bit of sense . defensively he is solid. but when it comes to distribution he is awful Sort of agree with you. His distribution has been dire all season as it always has been but defensively for most of the season he's been great. Not looked his normal self this last 3 or 4 games though and hopefully he'll buck his ideas up a bit as it was always RB that scared the life out of me but with Wilko playing well and Kelly as back-up i'm OK there now. If Higgy's form stays as it is and Griff is the alternative it's a little concerning.

stokie 17 - i wudnt do half as good job as higgy is doing. qaulity defensively. maybe it is pulis who drills it into to him that he should hooof the ball up the field, or maybe it is that eveyone runs away from him forcing him to do this. ???
