I’m looking at the fixture list (who isn’t at the moment!) to see where we are going to get the 10+ points needed to keep us safe. I think the next 4 games are absolutely vital, I can’t say we’ve had an easier run of games throughout the season so far. It’s perfectly feasible for us to get maximum points at home from Boro, Castle and Blackburn plus our first away win at West Brazil.
If we can get 12 point from the games, and there's no reason why we cant it will not only make ourselves safe but keep the others down too. That said, if we lose a couple we could be in serious trouble. The next 4 games will make or break our season.
Come on Stoke, now is the time to take the pressure off us!

We will not get 12 points from those 4 games. I would eat my hat if we do! I am going for 7 aqt most! Hope I am wrong! All the teams are scrapping for their lives. The games will be tough

Few teams outside of the top 6 win 3 on the bounce and even back to back wins are a cause for celebration. We haven't managed this all season so why will we suddenly hit this level of form. The best we can hope for is wdwd....and that would get us close.

Back in Jan I was really looking forward to this stage of the season when we had these "easier" games to look forward to. Not looking forward to them now though. Whilst they are winnable they are also 6 pointers, so as already said, they either make us or break us. Draws at least stop the other side getting the full 3 and at least postpones any judgement day. Obviously defeats not only stops us getting points but also gives our rivals points. 1 win and 3 draws would do for me.

On paper, of course we could win the next 4 games. realistically though, if we win 2 of the 3 home games and draw the other (and get our 'once every 20 years' defeat at Brazil) we would be on 36 points and I STILL think we'd stay up with a home game against Wigan and away at Hull to come. Arsenal? Forget it!

We have a virtually (as good as any team could expect at this stage of the season) fully fit squad, no suspensions and many players hitting their top form of the campaign as we go into these games. It could be argued that these four games are the most important in the history of Stoke City football club, and even if they're not, they are certainly the four most important of Pulis' managerial career. No pressure at all.

Just done the predictor and have us needing a win on last day and relying on other results. Beat Newcastle and Blackburn at home and it makes a hell of a difference. I hear the logic that 42 needed for safety and of course that might be the case. Running the predictor I got Blackburn just staying up on 37 with 1 better goal diff at the expense of Newcastle, with Brazil and Boro joining them. I had us with no away win all season and with home wins against NU and BR we're on 40. Draws though have us going down on 36 with NU staying up.

We are in our best form of the season and had one of the best teams in the division under intense pressure yesterday. We are unrecognisable from the team that struggled at home to Hull and Fulham.
No Cresswell and no Pericard. Everyone is fit and we have added Beattie and Ethers.
Be positive, we can clinch our future over these four matches.

Well if we need something on the last day we can forget it.

Well if we need something on the last day we can forget it. I agree. Whinger hates us that much that even if we have to avoid a heavy defeat we will still be in trouble.

ok the next 4 games will decide are premiership future in my oppinion...
if we get 8 points from them i think we will be possibly almost safe. i'd love 12 but it wont happen, i think its important we beat Boro and Newcastle more than WBA and Blackburn drawing WBA and BBurn would give us 8 points. that means we got Fulham away Hull away Arsenal away and Wigan and West Ham home to get another 4 points
but the next 4 games are huge, Massive all important in my oppinion.

Well if we need something on the last day we can forget it. Lots of tough games knocking around for potential rivals though. But if we're in the bottom 3 before kick-off, we're surely doomed. I can't see us being 4 points clear of 18th though, so it's going to be a day for the brown y-fronts Arsenal v StokeBlackburn v WBAWigan v PompeyVilla v NewcastleSunderland v Chelsea Hull v Man Utd West Ham v Boro

Lets be honest here, I think the defeat against Everton was not down to bad football but for once a bit of dodgy goalkeeping from Sorro, it happenes, we equalled Everton yesterday. Therefore we will beat Boro, WBA, Newcastle and draw Blackburn, 10 points I can see from those 4 games.

Brazil will be down by then and Blackburn will be safe. Hull will also be safe by then IMHO. Villa v Newcastle could be tasty with Villa having to win to finish 4th and also Arsenal needing something. If we aren't safe by the last day we'll be down.

I disagree Joe - if Newcastle have to win at Villa and we are a point clear of them (not safe) we could both easily lose the last game and stay up. And I know, it's Stoke, but Newcastle do seem the next Leeds to me, and capable of losing that last one no problem.
I think we will be safe by then anyway, need 7 from the next 4 games to give us that drive. And if we were to beat Boro and WBA in the first two, that woukld be those two pretty knackered.

I think the next four shape our destiny, I think we need 3 wins out of four. That would put us on 38 points with 5 to play, surely even we couldn't fuck that up??

We are unrecognisable from the team that struggled at home to Hull and Fulham. Let's hope we're unrecognisable from the team that struggled at home to Pompey then as well , eh march?
