Plan A 1St Half Keep it tight. Two banks of 4.Mama protecting them. Beattie/Fuller trying to nick one.
Second half If we’re winning. Same as first half. But don’t press as far forward. If we’re drawing. Same as first half. If we’re losing. Same as first half.
5-10 mins into the second half. If we’re winning. Same as first half. But even more defensive. If we’re drawing. Same as first half. If we’re losing. Put on attacking sub. Fuller for Mama maybe. 15-20 mins into the second half. If we’re winning. Same as first half. Put on Cresswell. Less thoughts about attacking. If we’re drawing. Same as first half. If we’re losing. Put on second attacking sub.
15 mins top go. If we’re winning. Same as first half. Put on second defensive sub. Sit even deeper. If we’re drawing. Same as first half. Put on Cresswell If we’re losing. Put on second attacking sub.
10 mins top go. If we’re winning. Same as first half. Sit even deeper. If we’re drawing. Put on token attacking sub. See if we can ‘nick’ it. If we’re losing. Put on third attacking sub.
Plan B. See plan A.

Plan A 1st half - sit back and blame the players when the usual onslaught kicks in immediatley, get in fortunate to be two goals down and start the second half with the right tactics Apart from that spot on.

big open spaces? now I see why you don't want the corners at the Brit filled in. Away tactics is poor and contributing to our ever worsening goal difference which at this crucial time is like being a point worse off than other teams above us, these away tactics will take us down unles we get an away win

What's galling to me is that Stoke are a slightly below average Premiership team, we should therefore have at least a couple of away wins, the law of averages says that you get days when something goes for you and the opposing team misses all their chances, e.g. WBA against Middlesbrough, but we can't even manage that as unless we are two down we hardly cross the halfway line. The poor results must therefore be down to the way we are playing When we have had to attack teams we have shown we can rattle them, I'm not calling for some suicidal do-or-die approach but at least some attempt at pressurising teams. The way things are you cannot see Stoke getting anything at the Hawthornes, even though I would say Stoke are a better team than in the last few years and WBA not really improved, we should therefore go there with confidence and not this 11 man defensive crap.

It's a marvelous plan. 4 points from 37 - just what more do people expect ffs????????

Plan C = Keep your best players on the bench untill at least 60 minutes have elapsed and we are then two goals down and @ 90 minutes pick up your cash from the betting shop that you placed on the opposition to win (admittedly poor odds) but you nearly always lose away so you make a few quid to supplement your wages from Mr.Coates.

I think it is more of a mental block than that.

Northwich:
So if we'd managed to 'hang on at Chelsea and West Ham (and now had 35 points) the away tactics would be OK!
Some of our away performances have been shit be we'd all be more than happy now if those 2 results had gone for us.
Small margins........................
