Well i think were starting to see why Pulis was correct in not playing these two together.
They played together at preston and it never worked.
We desperately need another forward in now and Cressie back wide.
He may not be pretty out there but he scores from there.

it did work at preston. just look at the goal scoring records. i swear fuller said that cresswell was the best strike partner hes had. it doesn't seem to work with our way of play though.

A partnership needs games to develop. They've played up front together how many times this season?? Not many. I think given a run of games they could develop a very good partnership.

A Preston fan on here said that Fuller's most prolific season there coincided with Cresswell being played on the left wing.

Maybe actually try playing them together - rather than Cresswell 20 yards behind Fuller in the Mama role?
Afterall, Cresswell is a striker rather than an attacking midfielder?

It worked well away at Palarse, and for me it was Creswells best game for us where he scored 2 proper strikers goals.

RAF...Cresswell is vvank...end of story/nail on head.
He is a modern day Andy Cooke, with a slightly better eye for a goal, but apart from that game at Palace, he offers us little other than work rate, and an ability to tap in on the line.
As a left winger, he rarely beats a man, if ever, runs consistently down blind alleys and puts us in all sorts of trouble with his back to goal. As a forward, he is consistently offside, he doesn't hold the ball up and he doesn't win too many headers.
He is crap and the sooner this "left wing" excuse stops being trotted out the better.
Some women in front of me last night got the wrong end of the stick when I commented that "How can anyone miss a centre forward that hasn't scored a goal all season?".
We miss Mama enourmously, and his two spells out of the team have yielded or worst sequence of results. The sooner he comes home the better!

Sorry Dave, I disagree and so do many others. And apart from that game at Palace he hasn't really been played up front in a normal 4-4-2 situation where I think he is most suited.

Agreed ,whoever says Cresswell and Fuller played well together at prston doesnt know the facts.
They were very poor as they didnt compliment each other. Cresswell often played on the wing there when fuller played.

Yeah, the PNE fans said Cresswell's worst season coincided with him partnering Fuller as they didn't gel at all- and he ended up getting TWO goals during a whole season.

Cresswell is NOT the player to play alongside Fuller imho we need mamma back asap. What we desperately need is PACE in the wide areas to provide an outlet when the ball is constantly coming back at us ie last night.Although i like Danny Pugh as a player i thought last night he had his worst game in a stoke shirt were nothing he did went right for the lad.

Cresswell scored 3 goals in 45 appearances whilst partnering Fuller for Preston.
We will have to agree to differ on this one RAF...I think Cresswell is phucking hopeless and have said so practically all season. I didn't think too much of him when he was at Preston (although he always seemed to score against us) and he is distinctly unimpressive for the bulk of every game he plays in a red and white striped shirt. Add up the total distance of his 7 or 8 goals scored and I don't think you would make 25yds.
Back to the Preston debate, Cresswell's best form for them, came when he partnered David Healy up front.

Looks like you will get your wish as Mali bombed out of the African Cup of Nations last night. Wonder when Mama will get back? Back for Saturday?
I wouldn't mind David Healy up front with Fuller, he is exactly the kind of player we need. Unfortunately we don't seem to be trying to get that kind of player in.
Fingers Crossed we do.

I didn't realise that Mali were out already.
That is fantastic news. Fingers crossed, he is on his way home already.
I know we need more goals from him, but right now, in the absence of a new signing, Mama's return is imperative!
