Playing the Reading way??? Hardly played amazing football did they. They were a pretty unattractive physical side too as I remember. How about it didn't work out because my attitude stunk and I thought I had a god given right to be in the first team when I threw my toys out the pram when things didnt go my way. Good riddance - Vastly overrated oh come on we've all seen what a great ball playing centre half Sonko is and he was a star of that amazing football side.

On the flip side they had Sidwell, Harper, Little, Convey, Hunt and Doyle. All good footballers and ones that pass the ball on the floor and put lots of good crosses in.

Evidently they play a very different way to us, but to brand them a good footballing side would be hyperbolic to say the least. For goodness sake they have Doobs at centre half.

Lots of people on here seem to blame Kitson for Stoke spending money on him. Surely the management of the club decide how to spend their money in which case the fault for this mistaken buy lies elsewhere. Or maybe Kitson did some sort of mind bending trick on TP, perhaps its his fault we signed Oli, Soares, Tonge and Davies too.
Others think any good player can adapt to any style, so Schevchenko was never a good player and Robiniho could play for Stoke.

Sidwell would walk into many teams in the Premier League and Little and Convey were decent wingers who put in good crosses. Evidently they like big black blokes at the back to give them a solid base. Last season Kitson scored 10 goals in the Premier League playing with those players and it was the other strikers, Lita and Doyle that let them down. Losing Sidwell too was a massive loss for them after the first season.

Not sure who you're trying to convince bayern............yourself it seems.
All this who he plays with nonsense isn't the reason that when he has played he's missed wide open goals- obviously our style of football the reason.
OH DEAR

If we're being honest here, and not just bitter because he actually has feelings towards Reading, given the lack of support he had, and where he was asked to play, he was never going to become anything other than a let down.
I'd go as far as to say that Maradona in his prime would struggle to make an impact on our team if he were asked to play in such a way.
Some players suit certain styles, other don't. The question is, why did Pulis chose to splash £5mill on a player of a certain style, and then chose to play him out of position??

He's far too arrogant to apportion any blame or responsibilty to himself."
He said he's entirely to blame. What more do you want Wizzard?
We all thought he was a great buy but it didn't work out because we didn't play to his strengths. Don't think we actually ever shelled out 5 million and the price we paid for Beats was a steal. Let's get over it and move on. The team already has.

OH DEAR Which games were these wide open goals in? A half chance at Portsmouth a chance he made himself against liverpool a shot from distance at Liverpool and maybe header or two elsewhere are all I can remember. Hardly Ronnie Rosenthal! I do remember a flick on for Ricci to score at Pompey and a couple of goal saving blocks, but no like the unseen work of some of our other players I must have missed those.

Whats with this " We all thought that he was a great buy. "bollocks. I know many Stoke supporters who didn't think it was a great buy not for 5 million or how ever much it was. To be honest a lot of people were gob smacked at the amount of money wasted on his signing.

I dont buy all this played out of position stuff. There is only one reason why he didnt succeed at Stoke and thats his attitude. His body language was wrong from the start. He strolled round the pitch not caring. Stormed off down the tunnel at Portsmouth in the huff.
Went to watch the reserves against Chelsea a couple of weeks ago. Kitson was shockingly bad. Strolled round the pitch putting in zero effort. Had a constant strop on and clearly didnt want to be there.
Good riddance.

Criticism is fair enough, these players earn life changing money from football and naturally fans are expectant. But the vitriol to me is way off beam-just like it was when people were saying Fuller should fuck off.
What he has said is very complimentary about the club and us as fans. The best we can do now is hope he gets in their side and scores 7 or 8 goals to prove his worth and Reading get promoted.
If so they will surely want to buy him and we would recoup most if not all of our outlay.
Sometimes it doesnt work out when players move clubs. One of the most famous ones was Gary Birtles. The key is to sort it out professionally and move on.
Dont see any need to slag him off.
