Is it just me or does anyone else think Mama just doesn't offer enough. I will be honest I even wrote on here that i doubted that Mama would ever start another game for Stoke following the arrival of BT and Camara and i hastily add i was wrong. But having watched both games since the messiah came back from injury i think we have better, more capable players to fill that role.
Last night for instance Mama had terrible trouble with his heading, he kept missing the ball!!!!!!!! I know he works hard but surely BT is better at it than Mama and he does one thing that Mama has struggled with and thats scoring goals. We have two fast men in Fuller and Camara so a run on the bench is warranted for big Sid.
Im not saying he's finished for Stoke and in the right circumstances could be an impact player but i finally think Stoke have evolved and are much better for it. I'd even go as far to say in 3 short games we've shown we can create goals without Sid and Delap(he's another thread im sure ;D) That my friends is evolution!!!!!!!!!

paul totaly disagree he is the heart of stoke I think you'll find he will be dropped in the next couple of games. Not sure about Everton but certainly when were at home. We have better options up front

possibly but what a bench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Agreed, TP, Coates and Scholesy have done a tremdous job. Very strong squad and the quality runs deep too. Simmo, Griffin, Sonko, Kelly, Pugh, Tongue, Lawrence, Kitson, Camara, Creswell, Fuller(of late) Im sure that bunch would make a good team it could possible get promoted from the Championship!

I would rather Mama start and Fuller come off the bench. I think Fuller frightens the shit out of the oppo when he comes on with fresh legs. Having watched the game back yesterday on Sky+ Mama was pushed off the ball nearly every time he went for it yet we only got 1 foul.

Mama may not score many goals but he is very much part of Stoke City F.C. and as long as Pulis is in charge then Mama will be a fixture within the team.

Mama is finding his fitness and form after a longish layoff with an injury which will have prevented him training for much of his absence. I'm amazed that he has managed to last as long during games as he has done. He'll get fitter and faster.
I suspect Fuller will soon be starting start home games alongside Beattie in which case Mama will be great to have on the bench to come on late in the game. In away games it wouldn't surprise me if TP's preference is to start with Mama and bring Fuller off the bench in the second half. Either way, Mama (once fully fit) will be a valuable member of the squad until/unless TP finds a better target man.
I am well impressed with Beattie's quality and versatility but, unlike some posters, I don't think he is in Mama's class as a target man. However, I don't think Beattie and Mama work as well together as a pair as Fuller and Mama do. I hope TP manages to try out Camara paired with all three of the other strikers sooner rather than later. We do need to know which pairings work well and which don't.
