To go down by the majority of Bookies... I just can't quite understand their reasoning... We have one of the easiest run-ins and one of the best home records. In Fuller and Beattie I would also suggest the best strike partnerships outside the top 10 at least. Alan Shearer even thinks Newcastle will go down !! What do we have to do for Christs sake..! West Brom, Middlesborough and Newcastle, and I can see the Boro chairman panicking soon and getting rid of Southgate..?

my life the bloody bookies! all the stoke players know we can do it and i also think most of the fans do too and to me thats all that matters our players will fight to the very last game of the season and run their backsides off for the remaining 10 games! so fuck the bookies and lets prove them wrong! West Brom and Boro nailed on. Final spot is between Stoke, Blackburn, Newcastle and Hull. Maybe even Pompey although I think they will probably be alright.
I've said for a long time Newcastle are too good to go down but I'm not so sure any more.

I've said all along that Newcastle WILL go down and I am more confident than ever! As for the bookies, can't blame them for persisting with us. Just make it all the sweeter when they are proved wrong.

Pulis is learning. Shawcross is learning. Whelan is learning. They'll be next You forgot Wilko - the lad gets better every game! Seriously though, let the experts carry on. They live in a "big 4" shaped bubble and I will only start worrying when we dip below evens! I have never doubted that we would stay up - I always said that I have more faith in Pulis keeping us up than I ever had in him getting us up in the first place! We Are Stoke! RoryM

In a strange sort of way it could take the pressure off us....? Don't you think..? I agree, and I guess the odds are based on GD and the statistical history of newly-promoted teams going back down as much as anything. Doesn't bother me at all, I can't imagine Tone and the lads are losing sleep either.

The odds at the bookies often reflects where punters are putting their money as opposed to what they may think will happen. People with no real understanding or knowledge of football will read the names of Stoke and Hull and they'll barely recognise them in Premiership terms so will lean towards us. With Hulls (brilliant) win last night and the confidence it'll bring I think the odds are that they have an incredibly good chance of survival but the bookies still have them as having a good chance of relegation. Those of us that bet with more knowledge than many others shouldn't worry about it we should simply take their money off them!

If we beat Middlesbourgh, West Brom, Blackburn, Hull and Newcastle we will be safe. I should think so That would put us on 44 points! i would think another 4 wins would see us safe easily never mind 5 wins and it doesn't need to be those five teams either.

3 wins and 2 draws would leave us tantalisingly close to safety. 4 wins could well be enough.

dont forget the odds arent just based on the likelyhood of the event happening but also what losses they are likely to encounter and also how much they have already taken on that selection

Knowlesy was on Setanta the other night...in discussion with Steve Claridge.
He made some good points only for Claridge after the conversion ended, to add that he thought that Stoke would be 51/49 in his opinion of one of those going down...
Well done Knowlesy...I heard you loud and clear.!
Pity Claridge didn't.!

I think the bottom line is this... We exceeded their expectations to get here in the first place, and now that we are here, the powers that be want to restore their sense of pride by predicting our demise. Remember how Tarzan used to beat his chest...?
