Hull play Newcastle next and ordinarily I think 0-0 would be the best result for us, but it's getting to the stage now where I think we need a gap to open up between us and the teams below us, and with the Geordies playing Arsenal and Chelsea in the following games, I think a Hull win against them might be the best result for us.

Draw for me, only because I hate Hull and want them to get sucked into the relegation battle, and obviously dont want Castle to win

Whatever the result there will be a positive and a negative. Lets concentrate on beating (drawing ) away at Everton before worrying about other clubs.

Yeah but if Hull get a draw in this game then they're only going to need another 5 or 6 points for safety, whereas if Newcastle lose they're going to need another 10 or 11!

why do so many Stokies hate Hull?
Phil Brown yes but surely Hull are harmless?
Geordie bullshitters on the other hand can go down & stay down

I think most on here would be happy for Hull to stay up. It's Phil Brown they want to fail or maybe get toasted on a sun bed.

After Hull's win last night, it is looking increasingly likely that they are going to stay up.
I think we're probably moving away from the point when a 0-0 draw is the best result for us when they are playing teams below us in the table.
I couldn't give a toss who ends up in the bottom three so long as we're not one of them.

If Hull dont stay up it really will mean they go on some sort of caterstophily bad run, they only need 6-8 points from 10 games!!!

Did you notice the contrast in attitude compared to the start of the season, in his interview last night. Basically, it was a case of "It's 3 points, we don't care how we get them if the football's not pretty".

No, Hull are still by far the more likely team of the two to finish below us. Remember if Fulham had scored that injury time winner last night, instead of Hull, then we would have risen above them. It's still that close and Hull are still going to get relegated.

Thing is, Hull may be looking good at the moment on 32, but I still don't see THAT many more points coming their way. If they fail to beat Newcastle, they've not got that many clear point-scoring opportunities left. Home to us is their most winnable game, and they're also home to Pompey and away at Boro, but I don't see much else there for them. In their last 5 games they've got Liverpool, Villa and the shit, so they really need to have the points in the bag before then or they'll be cacking it. I can see our game against them being crucial to both our seasons - if one team comes out the winner in that I think it'll determine who finishes above the other.

cant see Newcastle staying up.
manager off sick, boardroom chaos, insane expectasion from their crowd, best player sold & best goalscorer out injured, toughest fixtures.
will only get worse when they go down too.

I think Newcastle will turn Hull over big time. I predict a max 5pts for Hull until the end of the season and I reckon they will go down with WBA and Boro.

I would piss myself if we survived and Newcastle (we're the greatest fans in the world, ever, except when we're losing or drawing) went down. Honestly, I would laugh for weeks.

Had to laugh at a Newcastle fan on the Sky Forum talking about the relegation dog fight Stoke are in. Think he might have missed something !!!
They played well last night though to be fair and can see them beating Hull.

Hull have got five points from their last five games. It's perfectly plausible that they could get (at least) the same from their next five:
Hull v Newcastle Wigan v Hull Hull v Portsmouth Middlesbrough v Hull Sunderland v Hull
They are in a good position, after last night's win.

Really want to see a big side like spurs (not going to happen) or the mags get relegated, and to be honest the way that newcastle has been run this season and last they would make a good cautionary tale if they were to be relegated.
Not sure about the hull result though really, i still think it'd be nice for as many as possible to be involved for as long as possible, so i still think a draw.
Despite the fact Hull were battered by Fulham last night and got what you would describe as an undeserved result, you've got to say well done to any side who can get 3 points at craven cottage, especially after an 18 game winless streak. (thank the lord we never managed to sign zamora by the way!)

The Fulham v Hull game was re-run on TV here this afternoon. Was just one of those days for Fulham where nothing would go in. They nearly won it 30 seconds before Hull scored.
They may already have enough points but they really are a poor side at the moment.
Not many seem to be backing Pompey who are well in the thick of it.
Boro play us then Hull. Really can't afford to lose either of those- Boro were dire last night. Fully expect them to go

To put this into perspective, I wouldn't swap Stoke's current points tally and last ten games for that of Hull with their run-in.
I repeat, Hull will go down.

the thing with us (hull) this season we have taken points when least expected . last nite the late goal went for us for a change .
we are due some good home form so hopefully we will get the points we need at home to stay up.

they are both relegation rivals so if they draw that will mean 1 point drifting off into the air that we shall not see again lol. have to be realistic i think it will it will be bloody hard to get anything at the toffee's[bloody hope we do!]so if either of these two spurn the chance of three points then thats better for us
