Was it Whelan ( much better game from him ) who didn't see Lawrence's run on the right as we broke and everybody in the stadium saw it bar him !?
It was almost as the roar went up he was looking for what he had missed.

no it was Beattie. he wasn't looking to be fair, and played the ball that he saw first.

Surprised he didn't hear about 15000 Stokies shouting at him to turn and pass it to Lenny! Would have been an almost certain goal, he was clear straight thru on goal. Bummer!!!

If it was the same incident that I remember, then it was Whelan.

Unless I went temporarily blind from screaming "GIVE IT TO LENNY!" then it was definately Beattie. Higgy had seen Lenny and tried to smack it cross field to him when ball was knocked back to him.
And I also thought Lenny's little tantrum was funny, poor lad had legged it 30-odd yards to get there and had the whole pitch to run into, but ball came to Beattie on his "wrong" side.
ah

It was Whelan, believe me. The ball that Beats put through for Lennie in the box was good but not just precise enough.

Wow. Temporary blindness is me. I'd have put a considerable amount on it being Beattie. I need new glasses. ah
