Many of you may know Johnny Wherton a regular poster on here. Unfortunately his Mum is very ill. She has been diagnosed with cancer and after a massive operation has suffered complications and is in intensive care at the City General.
Now John and his Mum are massive Stoke fans. Johns house is even called The Boothen End. His Mum is a season ticket holder and has been for many years. They are residents of Penkhull and John is a regular around the pubs. John is one of the funniest blokes I have ever met and a great pal. He wasn't sure about going tonight but I convinced him to go, as his Mum would want him to and then get back to the hospital and tell her all about it.
Go on Stoke get a win tonight and that would be a massive tonic for John and his Mum.
Best Wishes mate, myself and the Oatcake Community are all behind you and your family.
GET WELL SOON PAULINE WHERTON!!!!!

Do it for Pauline or, as I call her, Fatty. She is my big sister and I have called her this for all her life, which long may it continue. This win is for Fatty. Get well soon cock. Johnr

I have known John since infant school and have many great memories standing on the Boothen as a kid with both him and his Mum Pauline. They are genuinely two of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet, and both are Stoke through and through, even if Wherty sometimes has problems knowing the difference between Football & Rugby All the best mate, my thoughts are with you and your Mum, please pass on my best wishes.
