Micky scored the goal at the Vic that knocked us out of the FA Cup the season that Cov won it. We had a great chance that year and I honestly think it could have been us that year. I know - story of our lives....

Gynn and Tonic. I remember the headline the day after.
I too believed we could of gone all the way that year.

To be fair, he was instrumental in setting up two of our goals at the City Ground in 1993.

We had 2 blatant peno's turned down. To top it all wasn't the ref originally from Stoke?

I hated the little shit that afternoon. But to be fair, he was a good, whole hearted little player. It's just a pitty that (as always seemed to be the case), he was well past his sell by date when we signed him. Good guy though and it's somewhat gratifying to see an ex pro happily living his life as the rest of us has to i.e. earning himself a living without complaint or giving it the big 'do you know who I am/used to be'

I remember that goal at the Stoke end. Werent the fences still up.
Shows how Sky have changed the players wages.

"The biggest thing I’ve ever delivered was probably a car-bumper. You could tell what it was by the packaging. It was the shape of a bumper."
Micky Gynn - one of football's more intelligent ambassadors.
And I vividly remember the 2 penos that weren't given. We were well and truly robbed.

I had a couple of beers with him and Cyrille Regis after the Coventry match at the Ricoh last season. A nice fella but as Otley has pointed out, not the sharpest tool in the shed.
He plays a lot of golf these days and gets freebies to go and watch Coventry ;D
