It's what it's all about isn't it? Approaching the business end of the season, and a relegation six-pointer that, if we win, could leave us with a bit of breathing space for a week or two. On the other hand if we lose there could be a nasty little gap starting to open between the bottom 4 and the rest.
I know there isn't much point in this post, but I just had to tell some people who know and care that I am virtually pissing myself with excitement at the thought of going to the Brit today, and that is a sentence I never ever thought I'd type.
The games against the Big 4 are one thing, but battling for points in a game that you really do have a good chance of winning, and really NEED to win brings about a totally different atmosphere. There's an apprehensive buzz about the place, with every attack getting you on your feet, while every spell of rearguard action has you worriedly peeping through your fingers.
It certainly doesn't do your blood pressure any good, but I fucking love it, and it's games like this that cause me to feel a genuine pang of sympathy for those strange folk who don't know the joys of really supporting a football team. Be it music, film, gardening, cars...whatever folk may use to satiate the part of their brain that craves activity and interest, it won't ever replace the emotions that football can generate.
I could crap on all day about what it is that makes football so special, but anyone whose a member of this messageboard will already know it.
Top flight football...versus the FA Cup holders...in a relegation six pointer...in front of 27,500 screaming people.
How can anyone not want to be part of that?
GOOOOOOAAAARRRN STOKE.

I hope it doesn't go the other way and the anxious, nervous feelings spread through the stands and filter onto the pitch. Could be quite muted, thats why I think we need a good start to get everyone going and spring board a cracking home win!

Enormous game for you chaps today. Not quite a must win, but certainly a mustn't lose. If you do, you and the baggies look gone. Pompey may be a tough nut for you to crack, they have big strong defenders, and will be a bigger challenge that that spineless Man City effort. Good luck, having said that, I hope you lose

hull spurs mmmmmmmmm tricky I'd prefer to be at home againt Pompy, spurs have got some great individuals if they choose to show up. Lennon was awesome at the Lane against us and that Modric, he ran the show, Keane back aswell, tricky indeed.

Spot on Getting very excited now and looking forward to seeing Mama back on the pitch In the week felt a bit down as the crowd often rises more for the big teams and of course we lost our last game however the vibes since have been good Is this the first genuine sellout for a match not against a top team without incentives? Bring it on

Your perpetual garbage becomes somewhat irritating and merely acts to clutter up the board and make the process of separating the wheat from the chaff a harder one.

Meanwhile on-topic, we need the atmosphere to be good today. Forget getting up for the Utd's and Liverpool's ... lets be up for this one today. It's absolutely massive.
