Well perhaps not technically, but from a perspective of lifting our moral and keeping them in the 'drop zone' then I would suggest we have to look at it this way.
We desperately need to win this one...We need to look at those above us, and not start relying on what is going on below.
Three points ...nothing less..
Who dares wins.

Three points would be brilliant and put us in a fantastic position but one point wouldn't be a disaster.
I think we will win but hope the wrist slashers keep some sort of perspective if we don't

Reality is that we must not lose but there is no reason why we shouldn't WIN.
So long as we have a real go at them I will be happy with a draw. Delighted if we win and over the chuffin moon if its 3 - 0.
Pompey are still bubbling after their home win but we should have enough to beat them at home. Camara to score on his home debut.
BELIEVE!

Its not a must win game. It would just be preferable, make life easier, if we do win Just before the Citeh game, on a month by month predictions thread, I had us down for a conservative: Jan 1pt Feb 3pts March 4 pts April 7pts May 4pts =40pts in total and a good chance of being in there with a shout. We beat Citeh, so we're 2pts up and a draw will do, but a defeat would only mean we need to make a point up somewhere.........trust me Edit - April will be a BIG month

Agree-can't lose it. What does concern me is that there is a slight chance of a bit of a gap opening if we are beaten although a long way to go. A point at Sunderland would have been nice and was there for the taking. Pompey have some real quality but we are well capable of beating them. Have beaten far better sides but sadly doesn't work like that. Am glad no Defoe but with Villa next week, 3 points would be very welcome. I think we we need to win 4 more games and with the odd draw thrown in will be safe. Out of the 7 remaining home games there isn't any of the big sides to play although West Ham and Wigan are toughies but not beyond us.

Yes, it's funny how the happy clappers move the goalposts when we have a couple of suspensions or injuries isn't it?
This, as mumf suggests, is a "must win" game.

I did the predictor thingy the other night and tried to be as fair as possible, in fact too fair at times.
I had us not winning another game this season, losing at Fulham and Arsenal, drawing the rest and we still finished 7 points above the drop zone!
So, with the fixtures the others have, and baring freak results, we don't have to win any more games to stay up. Just keep grinding out results will do us.

So six draws would put us on 38 points and you had us finishing 7 points above the drop zone? Newcastle are on 29 points now, so you only see them picking up two more points before the season ends? Interesting.

Newcastle will probably get 6 - 8 points max & go down
wouldnt be surprised if they get as low as 3 or 4 points though.

i did the predictor thing too a couple of times and both times we stayed up. Acoording to my predictions it's gonna be very close with newcastle, sunderland and hull for the third psot with boro an west brom down. I think in the negative prediction i had us getting just 7 points (even losing to west brom ) I know it means nothing but it certainly looks very promising with our run in and who the others have got to play
