with the on going saga regarding beckham going to milan. i thought that the transfer window had shut for all european clubs??? then if so surely he cant complete a transfer till its open again? do fifa turn a blind eye because its the so called biggest player in the world or are foriegn teams still allowed to purchase . if this is the case i would think the premier league is kinda stabbing itself in the foot
edit: Italian tranfer window shut on the 31st jan 2008

BUt surely when it comes down to it both clubs can agree a loan deal with a view to a permanent one come the end of the season. The finances could be confirmed beforehand (or even paid as a "loan fee") as a pre-contract agreement.

so even though he is already there anybody can sign anyone if they get them on loan first. I was under the image that no loans or permanent transfers can be done?

i beleive at the moment Milan are simply trying to extend the loan which runs out in March and as it is just an extension of an existing loan the transfer window has no effect. It would only come into play if it was a brand new loan deal.

Isn't the transfer window limited to Europe only? Cause Galaxy are in the close season now surely meaning they can buy and sell players
