Since the dawn of time TP has prefered to play with one big guy playing behind one quicker nimble guy running the line - recently Gifton/Ade & Mama/Ricci so the most simple solution would be to replace Camara for Ricci would it not ?? Unless hes not fit why wouldnt this happen ? Why change a system that TP beleives in and has served us well (if not prety in the last few years). The whole situation makes a mockery of the 3 + million spunked on Kitson who can not play either role effectively. Forget sentiment and stick with what you preach should be the words TP should have in his head. Mama to come on if it aian't workin and even as early as half time if need be . Think TP will come in for some heavy critisism if once again his team selection isn't pretty much on the button. Kitson and Cresswell to start and a loss would put TP up againsn't a wall in my opinion but think it will happen, TP has a track record of not playing loan players does he not. Think Camara would give Sol more problems with pace than Kitson or Mama in the air?

Camara started last week and see no reason why he won't v Pompey. Be surprised if Mama was to start although he did throw him in after lay off before but this one far more serious. Don't for one second expect Kitson to play but nice that we do have a bit of depth with Fuller missing. We do have the luxury of being able to switch it with either Camara or Mama to partner Beattie and both offer something different.

He was doing a good break forward with pace and power until Ethers decided to chuck the game away. Styles had to bring play back. I like the look of Camara and would like him to start on Saturday.

Yep excellent signing for me Joe. Were a few on here questioning the need for him signing for us but with the Fuller injury he looks a certain replacement. I like the way he was constantly looking to run at Sunderland and think he will cause Pompey problems.
At least we don't have to worry about Jermain Defoe's customary goal against us any more.

Camara's pace will be best used if the midfield runners back him up quickly and we can keep the ball moving. Lets have Camara playing across the width of the frontline and Beattie generally staying in central positions.

midfield runners?
OK the 'wide' players might get forward but we all know it is forbidden for the midfield two (although when Rory plays there he gets forward sometimes & Eustace used to pre-injuries) for the central pair.
Mama & Beattie upfront presumably.

As soon as camara came on he looked hungry for goals i think the first time he had the ball hit had a shot from about 20 yards out.Apart from the miss he didnt seem that bad for me and could be just what we need.

He will come on for Mama mid way through the second half.

Camara won't start Saturday. Mama is crucial to the way that Pulis wants to play. No one can hold the ball up like Mama. He gains the side crucial ground , whilst the wide players can get up the pitch to form a concerted attack on the opposition.
Camara has been brought in as a second half substitute, to liven up the attack. Not sure he was told that when he signed though !

What wide players would that be then?

It would have been Etherington , should be Lawrence , but will probably be Cresswell. I still fail to see why he is prefered on the wing when he cannot cross the ball or beat a man !

That's what I was getting at mate. No use in holding the ball up for half an hour until Cresswell manages to get up field and fluff any chance of a decent cross in.

I wish Cresswell would perform the trick where he disappears in a puff of smoke before kick-off, rather than the one where he makes himself invisible on the wing for 90 minutes
