Like last year you mean? H To be fair last year was freaky! The Fa cup has died (it died with the Prem imo) like most of top level football there is little or no chance for anyone outside the big boys when it comes to major prizes or even in dividual shocks. The top of the Prem is dull and has been for years and years. The only interesting thing is the relegation scrap and even that will be between the half dozen or so teams that we all predicted at the start of the season

wow I'll pull out all the bullets one by one
just felt like saying it after listening to cardiff capitulate as pathetically as derby did on TV yesterday
quite interesting to see sir Alex actually talk to a football pundit because he wasnt representing the BBC too - I just imaginined he was being gently but very purposfully masturbated just out of the cameras picture by some TV 'lacky' as he 'graced us wilth his royal prescence' (utter shitbag that he truly is ).
I find most pleasure these-days in listening to half time, half assed pundits, trying to flog a dead horse of a game when, one of the big four are already two or three up at half time - I watch but, its about the only entertainment I get out of it these days.
its just so fecking predictable !
uh oh ! 4 :0 to arsenal WOOOPEY FUCKING DOOO

Romance of the cup is alive and you can see it every season...this year h'pool v tones nohopers spring to mind...last season champs teams gave the prem a good going over..including barnsley at l'pool.dont suppose you bothered to see what last seasons semi line up was either....if we lost the fa cup as part of the footy season as you and many prem managers no doubt hope the footy world would suffer a big loss.

I feel very apathetic about the cup this year and I think it has a fair bit to do with the utterly shite coverage provided by ITV and Shitanta. They have managed to remove any sense of occasion from the competition.
Should have left it with the beeb & Sky.

Trebor, if you predicted the teams currently in danger of relegation, you are a better prophet than most of us. As domsmith Stokie says, Newcastle Spurs and Pompey are surprises to me - and Blackburn wouldn't have been on my list until Hughes left them.

shock, horror. team from lower league gets thrashed by team from higher league in fa cup. that never used to happen all those years ago did it?

I don't really see the argument. It's about as predictable that Cardiff would lose at Arsenal as it was that Stoke would at Old Trafford. Occasionally there's a shock in the cup (Barnsley at Liverpool) as there is in the league (Hull at Arsenal).
If it's being suggested that Premier League games not featuring Stoke are devastatingly exciting, I disagree. Give me a Burnley/Spurs cup-tie over Man. United/Chelsea any day of the week.

I agree one of the big four has it wrapped up. But I do enjoy watching sides such as Swansea out play top half Premiership opposition.

Newcastle were always likely to be in trouble and the minute Harry left Pompey it was clear they'd be joining the dof fight! So to be honest apart from Fulham (who I thought would be mmore involved) there isn't any surprises to me

Come off it Trebor - In an earlier post you talked about the relegation fight being predictable at the start of the season. Now you say Pompey were likely to join the dog fight when Harry left. So at the start of the seasonyou predicted Harry would leave Pompey? ;D

You really thought Newcastle would be in this much trouble when they drew 1-1 at the shit?

You really thought Newcastle would be in this much trouble when they drew 1-1 at the shit? At the start of the seaso I thought Newcastle would struggle (not particularly to go down but to struggle) and they are about where I thought they'd be. And as for Pompey I admit at the start I thought they'd be ok but the minute Harry left they were doomed to struggle. At the start of the season I knew we'd struggle but felt we'd survive but if TP had left for whatever reason we'd have been relegated without trace by now! PS Mr Fornside when do you go to La Plagne ;D

That whole FA cup weekend was full of great games. Also didnt Leicester have a good go at someone and i'm sure there was another fantastic game. Just checked Leicester beat Spurs 3-2 and Burton drew with Manure 0-0.
