Bang on the money Huddy...I remember the Kop giving Banksy one of the most moving ovations I've ever seen..it bought a tear to my eye too... We've always acknowledged England Goalies because of our tradition and because we know and love our football..It's in the DNA of all genuine Stokies... So true mate, mind you we used to applaud the greats like Bobby Moore too didn't we or am I getting forgetful in my dotage? ;D We always gave England players respect whether they played for us or somebody else...it was just a natural thing to do...It was bred into us...appreciate others...and they will acknowledge us... Now, kids are bought up (by some) to ridicule/abuse/attack anyone that is in any way different to their sad little selves...whether it's because they play for another team or have different coloured skin... A very sad sign of the small-minded times...

'Makes the odd howler but all keepers are prone to them'.....too true James is the latest in a line of average keepers for England...its been a long time since we had a quality keeper.
Did Banksy make any howlers?.....I remember one in the classic League Cup semi final at OT against WetSpam...tripped Hurst up in the penalty area for no apparent reason to concede a penalty....he of course kept out the pen with a stunning save!....they dont make em like Banksy anymore

He's always been able to make saves no other keeper can make. BUT the nuts and bolts of the job aren't always there. Positioning and crossing have never been trustworthy.
Good bloke though.

I've seen David James save a penalty at Stoke, true story. After that game, many were hailing Bruce Dyer as a surefire saviour. Is that you in your signature?

We should give James a bit of psychology, give him a bit of respect on his approach to the Boothen, then abuse him for the following 45 minutes.
