Think the guy deserves a good reception on Saturday having just broke the record for premier league appearances
Plays with a smile on his face and genuinely enjoys the game and plays it as it should be played
And if we grief him he will only laugh and have a bloody blinder

I'll be giving him a warm reception and hoping for at least one unforced error.

Agreed, apart from the odd howler he is a top keeper. I think a clap would be deserved beacuse it is a good achivement to get the record.

I like the guy, has a good attitude and always up for a laugh. Makes the odd howler but I think all keeper's are prone to them - his just seem to be more comedy that others

OK...Calamity has made a few balls-ups over the years....but everyone makes mistakes...I like James and I'll be giving him a round of applause from up the top of Block 21..when he runs to the Boothen at the start of the second-half...(If I'm back in time from the half-time pint.. )

Do the Boothen still clap every keeper as they approach the goal and if they acknowledge give them the wanker sign and a big AAARRRRGHHHHH!
I used to enjoy that as a boy.

He's a great 'keeper, and one of the few players that looks like he actually wants to be on the field when playing for England. I for one shall be clapping him when he approaches the Boothen. But, as the rest of you I'm sure, I'll be hoping he has a howler between the sticks on Saturay ;D

agree with GB, always looks like he enjoys the game and obviouslts to play for his counrty, one of the few in the team with captain qaulity's also and one of few who sings the national anthem.

i'll give him a round of applause after the game but before and during it i think a 'if james can play for england so can i' is in store lets intimidate the bloke into making a mistake, we certainly intimadated the city players the other week so we know it bloody works. come on now don't let people think we're going soft

Just like it was at Upton Park the night we beat them a few years back, 'If James can play for England so can I.'

Great keeper but lest hope he makes one of those howlers he drops in every so often!

Why give him a warm reception? He is vastly overrated and partial to the odd howler.

After the reputation of THE BEAR PIT which at the moment is helping to get points at home. Can we really afford to go soft on the opposition before games. As we saw against Man City the booing and the general hostillity around the ground surely helped to pull us through.

He might of made some howlers but Carson has nearly caught up with him & hes nearly half of James' age!

Haha, ive never witnessed this, i would love to see it though, i imagine it would be a right laugh, the keeper would feel like a right cock lol All though the keeper will ened up having a quality game then at full time start clapping back to us and giving us the wanker gensture

I gave Hart a clap when he came up to our end the other week. Cracking U-21 'keeper, and one I think will be a wonderful first team choice in not too many years to come. He laughed and clapped when people started singing 'there's only one Shay Given' as well haha. There's only one England goalie I can think of that I have ever boo'd, and that was Carson. I don't think I was the only one

I for one will be applauding David James, always rated him as a shot stopper, bit of a vampire though! Also writes a good column in the Observer on Sundays.

Got to have a bit of respect for James, also good to see a footballer with a bit of intelligence!
Lets hope we can lull him into a false sense of security so that he drops a few crosses and we bag a couple of early goals!

I've seen David James save a penalty at Stoke, true story.
After that game, many were hailing Bruce Dyer as a surefire saviour.
