Maybe the reason why our luck and lack of discipline wearing this 'cursed' top IS the actual colour itself According to that the away dressing room at the brit should be painted pink!.. Get it sorted TP www.infoplease.com/spot/colors1.html

Yellow Cheerful sunny yellow is an attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic color, people lose their tempers more often in yellow rooms, and babies will cry more. It is the most difficult color for the eye to take in, so it can be overpowering if overused. Yellow enhances concentration, hence its use for legal pads. It also speeds metabolism. Red The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates a faster heartbeat and breathing. It is also the color of love. Red clothing gets noticed and makes the wearer appear heavier. Since it is an extreme color, red clothing might not help people in negotiations or confrontations. Red cars are popular targets for thieves. In decorating, red is usually used as an accent. Decorators say that red furniture should be perfect since it will attract attention. you may be onto something here, FBS

Team selection and tactics are the reason for our poor away performances...Not the strip!! Sorry if the truth hurts anybody

granted, werrington! But a commercial strip colour could effectively enhance or depreciate our effect on the opposition, thus affecting performances: For example: Man U 2nd strip: White Brides wear white to symbolize innocence and purity. White reflects light and is considered a summer color. White is popular in decorating and in fashion because it is light, neutral, and goes with everything. However, white shows dirt and is therefore more difficult to keep clean than other colors. Doctors and nurses wear white to imply sterility. And they get most ref's decisionsMan U third strip: Blue The color of the sky and the ocean, blue is one of the most popular colors. It causes the opposite reaction as red. Peaceful, tranquil blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals, so it is often used in bedrooms. Blue can also be cold and depressing. Fashion consultants recommend wearing blue to job interviews because it symbolizes loyalty. People are more productive in blue rooms. Studies show weightlifters are able to handle heavier weights in blue gyms. As above...decisions get given because they are deemed 'loyal'Chelsea 2nd strip Black Black is the color of authority and power. It is popular in fashion because it makes people appear thinner. It is also stylish and timeless. Black also implies submission. Priests wear black to signify submission to God. Some fashion experts say a woman wearing black implies submission to men. Black outfits can also be overpowering, or make the wearer seem aloof or evil. Villains, such as Dracula, often wear black. Fat Lampard appears less fat and they can dictate the gameCould be straw clutching but i reckon our next away strip should be black, white and red ;D See a pattern, Werrington

i cant find it now but ive just read on one of these pages that many teams in world sport paint the away dressing room in pink as it is a romantic colour and the colour of love, the reason they paint the room pink is its supposed to take the energy away.

I remember how that all-conquering Liverpool team of the early 1980s used to struggle in their yellow away kit.

Maybe TP should change the colour of his team tactics whiteboard pen from white to black...maybe the players will get it then?

I'm sure we'll get more comments along the lines of "our yellow kit is cursed" next time we lose away but I'd still like to point out
Brazil - yellow Bayern Munich - hoops for god's sake! Barcelona - stripes Real Madrid - white (the colour of surrender) Argentina - light blue and white stripes Celtic - green and white hoops
which basically means it's entirely down to the team not the kit.
Personally, I think we pay the price of playing on a narrow pitch at home (which works at home obviously) but causes problems away on wider playing surfaces?

Personally, I think we pay the price of playing on a narrow pitch at home (which works at home obviously) but causes problems away on wider playing surfaces? i think you may have a point there beagriestache, we have bought more players in to suit our home style of playing very narrow, yet most away grounds in this league are wider. but reading that about the article pink i can not see the disadvantages of painting the away dressing room walls pink at the brit. afterall the pink wall article is fact we are talking about based on research. we need to win at least 5 of our remaining home games, if the pink walls help by only 1% it should be done. especially for the amount of money it would cost. www.colormatters.com/body_pink.html"In summary: The status of pink football locker rooms today University of Hawaii associate head coach George Lumkin was a member of the 1991 staff that saw visitor locker rooms at Iowa and Colorado State painted pink in the belief that the color made players passive. Now the WAC has a rule that a visiting team's locker room can not be painted a different color than the home team's. In other words, it can be pink, black or any color of the rainbow, as long as both locker rooms are the same color."
Source: Honolulu Star Bulletin 10/24/99imo the colour of the room could make a difference, you only have to go down B&Q and look at the colour charts, the different colours represent different moods.

I think that's right about colours influencing moods - never been in one (yet ) but I think mental hospitals are often painted light green as this is thought to calm volatile patients. Or is this an urban myth?
