???I think we are a pretty stable club financially for our size? Good owner and for what I understand not too much debt ??? If ( and - big IF) we can stay up this season in the Premiership then I think we will become an established club in this P league going forward ( bottom half consistently of course for the next few years) But then Europe beckons Look at Wigan. Bolton, Fulham Mboro & Blackburn. Our fan base pisses all over their's completely. What if we establish ourselves in the PM - solid home crowd of 27.5K per week plus stadium expansion (Im sure investment would follow) ??? All SCFC need to do now is survive!!!!

I was saying the same thing the other day, if we can survive then theres no reason why we couldnt establish ourselves in the best league in the world

27.5k plus every game? is this realistic or is this season just a bubble? I'm not sure we'll continue with the crowds we have. Your original point though I agree with, why not, we can compete financially with uncle Peter so why not establish ourselves and then start reaping the rewards

It would be nice, get the training ground built then be a stable Prem side. On the worrying side though look at the bottom 6 of the Championship, all ex Prem sides!

If we get more points than three other teams then yes we will survive - ;D ;D ;D and for the record I think we will.

Your original point though I agree with, why not, we can compete financially with uncle Peter so why not establish ourselves and then start reaping the rewards Our attendances and the quality of our support have been a revelation to most people, although hardcore Stokies knew it all along. It's going to be touch and go at best for the rest of this season, because tbh we're barely good enough (consistently, not on our best days) to be in the Prem as yet. But at this moment I'm feeling we're going to make it.

I seriously doubt it. If we do, I expect a battle every season, because we aren't going to change how we play. We've already shown that all money does is buy us more expensive players to play the system and style that the manager prefers.
We were always fed the line that we played "hoofball" because we could not afford players who could be effective and play decent footy.
We've spent millions and the football is little different to any of the other seasons we had in the CCC. It's just at a higher level with more expensive players.
We need to do more in this division.

Theirs no IF we are staying up ( i hope :S ) & the crowds will hopefully stay as they are now, we are selling out mostly every game, so their is other fans who want tickets + with stadium expansion which i very much hope will happen the atmosphere will be electircc

If we stay up (and I think we will - just) then probably for most of our games the crowds will be about what they are now. But we should be able to pull in 30,000 + crowds for the glamour games if/when we expand the stadium. So, I'd expect us to be able to push our average crowd up to the 30,000 mark if we stay in the Premiership for a number of years.
That isn't going to make us a top ranking club where crowds are concerned but it will always put us above several sides in the Premiership. And we mustn't forget that gate receipts play a smaller part in a club's total income in the Premiership. This year gate recepts will be aound £10 million but total income will be over £45 million.
As to where this puts us in terms of how far the club can progress that is anyone's guess. Can TP attract the calibre of player that Waddo did? If he does can he play the sort of game Waddo's players did when they featured regularly near the top of the table? I suppose many will have their doubts about that but as someone who remembers most of Waddo's reign, the "Waddington Wall" of the early years gave little clue as to the expansive, flowing type of game he would get the team playing once he got the club established in the top flight.

Agree totally Lakeland. We were promoted from Div 2 with a very strong defence in 62 and it took 10 years of struggle to build the success of the early - mid 70's. The problem these days is that players are not loyal to their clubs and trying to build a successful team over several seasons is very difficult.
