As far as far as I'm concerned !
Stoke are not playing y'see
Courtesy of meaningless cup matches and, even more meaningless international friendlies that merely go to prove yet again, and irrefutably:-
supporting England these days is a complete and utter waste of time !
Because when the time comes and they are up against a really decent side -they really cant 'cut it'.
What was quite funny was seeing that simple fact dawn, all to plainly, on the England managers face as totally outlcassed, the second INEVITABLE goal went in !
and, if anybody and I mean ANYBODY thinks this sorry shower will win ANYTHING as long as they've got holes in their collective arses - you are very, very sadly deluded.
One postive point - 3 portsmouth players showed up - and they all looked particularly fucking useless too
hope for us then ! (smiles)

Agree 100% with the internationals. I pay absolutley no interest in England anymore.
Disagree 100% with your opinions on the cup.

My only interesy tomorrow will be Pompey v Citeh. I've got diddly squat interest in the FA cup and sadly I can't remember the last time it meant anything to me.
I'll always be rooting for England in competitons but friendly games even for Stoke do nowt for me. Of course the only other sporting option is a load of little rich boys playing 'rugger' but frankly I couldn't be bothered with that

Presumably Tony if we ever break the habit of a lifetime and reach the final of one of these "meaningless cup competitions", you won't be wanting a ticket?

Tony, if we were still in it, your meaningless FA Cup would have been a useful game of both Delap and Etherington's suspensions. Maybe not so meaningless after all

Quite ironic, Tony, that you always hope for us to make a quick exit from the FA Cup but are now moaning about the dead weekend which results from our early departure from the competition. ;D

70 - 80 mile round trip to watch the kids a bit much
As for rich toffee noses playing rugger - just what exactly is the point of a game where you run forwards chucking an egg shaped ball backwards anyways ?
as for the FA cup - I really really couldnt give a stuff - its badly tainted ya see -and, it helps fill FA coffers so on two counts - I really cant stand it !
as for FA cup matches using up suspensions to our players - a fair point ! -but thats about all though - lots hope for lots of injuries and suspensions to those teams still init though ! (being careful what Iwish for )

Somewhere deep down I always want em to win too - but this particular overrated - overpaid shower of preening pansies - make those emotions gag in my throat

I agree that there are quite a few of them that are overated and I definitely include Ashley Cole in that.
It's the press and the football fans who don't know much about football who's to blame for that.

I think modern football has a lot to learn from rugby.

The same ones who dont spend the whole match swearing at a referee? The very same ones who only roll around on the pitch in agony when they are either seriously injured or half dead? Football could learn a lot from Rugby Union, Trebor.

70 - 80 mile round trip to watch the kids a bit much Tony with that lack of commitment it will be the vacuum (and duster!) for you! Some games down at the Mich are worth a trip. Not sure about v Bolton, but given that the opportunity doesn't come around so often perhaps worthwhile today.

Nothing rich and toffee nosed about Mark Cueto. Local lad from a comprehensive school who's risen to the top of his sport, won the English premiership and a European trophy with the most loca team to him, Sale Sharks. Came within an inch of scoring in a world cup final and presumably earns less than any of our regular first teamers.
After a year of injury he's forced his way back into the England team and will be getting my backing today.

Tsk Tony - a Warringtonian like yourself should acknowledge there is a more down to earth code of egg-chasing. Did you not watch the Wolves snatch defeat from the jaws of victory last night? ;D P.S. What's the difference between Rugby League amd Rugby Union? ...."2 less idiots!". ;D

ukyestony.....has completely been taken in by the hype of the prem league...if it hasn't got the overhyped prem league brand he's not interested...no cups and no Internationals....watching football would be much duller without an escape from the Premier league thats for sure.

I'd watch any team I had even a tenuous link to, footy, Rugby, cricket, Golf even remember staying up to the early hours drinking beer with my old man watching Curling of all sports. I think there are similar frustrations in most sports between being a Stoke fan and an England supporter. Years and years of frustrations intertwined with the occasional high followed by the ineveitable let down and disappointment. Its not about the players, most England players are tossers but its the team.
You've got to love sport!
