2 pics from Sportsman's Dinner in Nantwich [12th Feb 09] with Matt Le Tissier. Higgy was on the table next to me Had a quick chat with Higgy afterwards - said injury's fine and is fit for Pompey match. Thinks we will stay up and he hopes to score a few more goals. Loves being back at Stoke, wishes he never left. And says bond between TP & Players is better than ever. Spoke to Le Tissier earlier in the evening - says he hopes we stay up but need to win away from home at some point to make things easier. Hes got alot of time for Pulis and a few of the Stoke lads (Beats, Rory, Higgy & Riccy) BUT hes very worried about Southampton - thinks they are goin down. Was a great evening with Le Tiss telling some cracking stories about his career, including - Glenn Hoddle, Alan Ball & Bruce Grobbelaar (these 3 stories were very funny) but i should'nt mention them on here ;D

Very impressed with Higgy. Turned out at short notice to the meet the players event when the other lads got stuck in traffic and was generous with his time.
Could so easily have made an excuse and stayed in to watch the Brazil v Italy game live on Sky which is what some would have done.

Seems like a top night was had by all and yes Higgy does seem to be a proper top guy. I quite like Le Tiss as well, always seems fair towards us too.
I'm off to a sportsmans Evening tonight in Congleton, Jason McAteer. Should be a good laugh and a good piss up too.

higgy embodies what a footballer should be like for me, loves his club, ugly and rough, has time for the fans Old fashioned full back too. In the Tottenham match, their full back gave Etherington a bit of a kicking, so Higginbotham gave him some protection by making sure this guy needed treatment on the sidelines within 5 minutes.
