Whilst he was on the way down to London to watch the Jamaica Vs Nigeria game Riccy got stopped by police and got his M6 BMW taken off him for not having a full English licence (he is getting it back) He also got a £60 fine on the spot and 3 points off his licence and will now have to take an English driving test as he's been driving around carrying a Jamaican Licence. Dissapointing to hear.

Whilst not wishing to doubt this, why would Ric be driving just a few days after dislocating his shoulder to the point of keeping him out for several weeks? Couple of hundred miles each way, not good recuperation, surely? Just a thought.

This is getting ridiculous, why is it dissapointing to hear. He did not commit murder, he did sexually assualt anyone in a Leeds nightclub, he did not visit a prostitute old enough to be his granny. he committed a minor traffic offence that the police deemed was worth £60 and 3 points exactly the same as I got for going through Waterhouses at 35 mph. And do not get me on to the conspiracy theories that abound this board after each defeat. Lighten up people, get a life and to quote my better half "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Finally anyone who started muttering about role models, my parents were my role models not Jimmy Greenhoff or Alan Hudson,

Hmm this is strange. You do have to carry out a driving test in this Country if you are here for 6 months or more if you come from certain Countries (outside the EU) The loophole is that every time you leave the country, the 6 months starts again. Strange..

Residents (no EU, or designated country)
If you are the holder of an ordinary driving licence (car, moped, motorcycle entitlement) and provided your licence remains valid, you can drive any category of small vehicle shown on your licence for up to 12 months from the time you became resident. To ensure continuous driving entitlement a provisional GB licence must have been obtained and a driving test(s) passed before the 12-month period elapses. If you obtain a provisional licence during this period, you are not subject to provisional licence conditions eg displaying 'L' plates or being supervised by a qualified driver or being precluded from motorways.
However, if you do not pass a test within the 12-month concessionary period you will not be allowed to drive as a full licence holder and provisional licence conditions will apply. If you do not apply for a provisional licence within the first 12 months you must stop driving and obtain a British provisional licence with a view to passing a driving test. Provisional licence conditions will then apply.
If you are the holder of a vocational licence (minibus, bus, lorry entitlement) and a new resident, you must not drive large vehicles until you have passed the relevant GB driving test. Driving test candidates are required to pass a motor car (category B) test first before applying for provisional entitlement for larger vehicles.
